what's the logic behind losing a ball being penalized worse than hitting it into a water hazard? fwiw, the apetit golf rules say if you lose your tee shot you can either hit #2 off the tee again or play #3 from where it was lost. (obvious exception being on the first tee when you get a free mully no matter what)

Followed Zalatoris for a little while yesterday. Dude is skinny. Also exchanged pleasantries with Lynn Swann, which was nice.

This. He may not be a big bomber, but he hits it a long way given his size and frame. Really impressed with his ball striking and temperment yesterday. I look forward to rooting for him for years to come. Speaking of ball striking, Hideki was off the chart after the replay. Those approaches at 11, 12, 15 and 16 were special, as was that chip on 18. I've always liked Hideki, and he seems like good people. He's always been a great ball striker, but his putting has held him back. But he's putting it better this week. Maybe this can be like Stenson's week at Troon where a great ball striker/mediocre putter finally gets it done at a major. My team isn't making any moves, but I don't care. I like this leaderboard of Matsuyama, Zalatoris, Leishman, Rose, Schauffele, Letterkenny Conners and Spieth, and any 1 of them winning would be a great story (iow, no DeChambeau or Reed in contention).
