Jaret Patterson, RB out of Buffalo, had 19 rushing TDs in both '19 and '20 while averaging 7.6 yards a carry his JR season (which was only 6 games), and still went undrafted.

not an exact match, but here is the number of players who earned each of those designations in 2018:

•30 five-stars, or 0.01 percent of the class
•380 four-stars, or 0.13 percent of the class
•1,328 three-stars, or 0.44 percent of the class
•1,859 two-stars, or 0.62 percent of the class
•296,403 unrated, or 98.88 percent of the class

so, roughly 2/3 of 5-stars get drafted, (90/380) or 24% of 4-stars, 8% of 3-stars, 1% of 2-stars

thanks for doing the math on this

someone posted earlier about % of Super Bowl participants that went in various rounds to show the randomness of drafting, but it was also misleading by pitting one round (the 1st) against four later rounds (4-7, which also have more picks per round due to the comp picks)

Serioulsy?? I watched that dude several times and he was a beast. That's pretty shocking.

Also of interest to the trade back and find a steal crowd, this years draft was also weird for number of draft eligible players. There were only 657 draft-eligible players in 2021. That’s down from 1,932 in 2020.

A lot of guys who would have been part of the day 3 pool are going back to school. Just look at the Wake Offensive line for 2021. Without the Covid "season doesn't count " rule for 2020, all the starters would have been in the pool of draft eligibles.

Yeah. Not many of that pool would have gotten drafted. Still it's pretty damning to leave early and not get drafted in a draft that doesn't include all seniors.

It will be interesting to see how the number of draft eligibles fluctuates as colleges work through the "super senior" classes. It will also be interesting to see how the NCAA deals with scholarship numbers.

Guys who entered school in fall 2020 will have the same eligibility years as guys who enter in fall 2021. Will that lead to massive classes of draft eligible players for the '25 and '26 drafts?

This is not hard.

looks a little different than this picture of Boogie in his previous game as a Bill
