Israel's state-sponsored terrorism and ethnic cleansing

It only took a decade or so for the Holocaust generation to die off before the Israel decided to ratchet up its apartheid program of the Palenstiains

Similar to how our white nationalism movement seemed to pick up steam a decade after the last large group of WWII vets died

History is terrible like that

The rise in white nationalism has also manifested itself in a rise in violence against Jewish peoples. And one could pretty easily draw a connection between the death of the holocaust generation and the rise in anti-Israel sentiment.

Maybe? But do you feel this country is more anti-semitic than it was in the 80's or 90's? I don't. I do think that bigotry in general is on the rise due to the age of Trump and its fucking horrible. I also don't think that most progressive Jews are on board with the fascist and nationalistic actions of modern day Israel.

I do think that Israel got a pass from the American generation that experienced the Holocaust, which allowed them to do some pretty horrible shit to the indigenous population of their new nation. That's true. Certainly. But this siege/blockade of Gaza has lasted for decades and lead to a massive humanitarian crisis. At some point we have to hold Israel to the same standard as other modern western nations. Or we need to acknowledge that they are just another oppressive theocracy that mistreats and murders its minority population.

Rise in violence against Jewish people manifested through white nationalism and other crazy conspiracy theories is a completely separate circle on the venn diagram that happens to haven an overlap with anti-Israel sentiment. White nationalist and Jewish haters are anti-Israel because well they hate all things Jewish, that just happens to overlap with people that support Jewish people, the religion, etc... but are anti-Israel the country because well they kinda suck and do a lot of shitty things.

I have observed two phenomena in the last handful of years:

- a rise in anti-Semitism that is largely online and dominated by conspiracy theories, most common among folks that trend Trumpist or otherwise white nationalist

- a quick rebuke of anti-Zionism as being anti-Semitic, sometimes grouping the anti-Zionists with the group above

It’s not hard to how see how white nationalists in Europe and North America would support Israel as a dominant military power in the Middle East.

But is it only the white nationalists in Europe and North America supporting Israel as a dominant military power in the Middle East?

if this was any other nation that wasn't in Africa we'd be flipping our shit about air strikes blowing up apartment buildings

This is true or at least arguable, but a completely separate discussion from the thread topic.

Not at all. Just saying that white nationalism isn’t automatically anti-Israel especially since Israel has become a conservative white nation that indiscriminately kills Arab people.

yeah, no politics involved with that designation

lol

Less political and more purely economic. Those actors are taken off or put on the list based on whether the same department is currently or plans to sell them arms. And that's all pretty much arbitrary too, depending on the administration and how much money it has gotten from manufacturers.

How little do you have to understand about US Imperialism to just like...trust the state department?
