Putin is maneuvering for some sort of deal. He figures the time is right. He'll never see a weaker president than Biden, and Blinken is a Hamptons' cocktail circuit lightweight.
 
Or, he might be just trying to expose and widen some cracks in NATO. Biden having revealed what a reliable ally he is in Afghanistan, and all that.

The economic sanctions are rumored to be removing Russia from the SWIFT banking system. Very interesting tactic and very harmful to them if true.

What was especially cool though, he didn’t actually say it, he wrote it, with his bare hands, in Russian, using deer feces, then high-fived his translator. All without breaking a smile.
