Squad lists starting to get trimmed to preliminary lists to final lists which are due June 1st.

Anybody up for a European Championships fantasy game? This thread could pull double duty if there is interest.

I'm in. This has always been a blast in the past.

24 nations in the Championship so I'd think we need a minimum of 12 people signed up and a maximum of 20.

Also, Jack Harrison not even making the provisional is bonkers. The argument can’t be that the advance stats support the inclusion of some players and not others. Bamford maybe falls into that category even more so.

Southgate better exceed expectations.

No AWB either when he's clearly the best defensive outside back England has and could be a specialist player to bring on if needing to protect a league.

Instead he has 4 of the same type of RB. Why not just stick an out and out winger back there?

Almost started this thread the other day. I’m in for fantasy, and propose we set a night and do it over Google Docs LIVE

Google Docs live is a really good idea

IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF

We can get people committed to doing it

I count 8 so far. Need at least 4 more.

4 right backs in England's squad and all with pretty much the same characteristics and attributes. Walker, James, TAA, Trippier. What exactly is the difference between these four players? I just don't understand not including AWB as a defensive specialist as it isn't like all 4 RBs Southgate is taking really offer much different skill sets NOR will all even get time on the pitch.

Southgate taking 4 RBs suggests he's going to play 3 at the back with Walker and James as options for the right sided center back.

Southgate is going to put TAA in the midfield of a hopeless 3-1 loss in the quarters and it will spawn a million “should he play there?!?” in the British press. Calling it now.

Reece James is a small, small person. Would be a disaster in a back 3.

Walker could do a job there, and has played there for Pep (IIRC), but yikes. Then if you are going to play a RB as a right-sided CB in a back 3 then.... wouldn't AWB make the most sense there considering how much of a better defender he is than the other 4? He also is the tallest of the 5 options, I believe.

I agree with you on AWB. He adds something the other 3 don't. I'd have taken him over James or Trippier.

I think it's highly likely we see Walker starting as part of the back 3 with either James or Trippier as the wing back. Assuming McGuire is healthy, I'd play a 4-3-3 with TAA at right back but that doesn't strike me as something Southgate has any interest in.

and now TAA has been ruled out of the Euros through injury

Lingard the most likely replacement
