Banning Critical Race Theory

So now CRT is not only a bad theory, it threatens the very survival of the nation.

Trump: "Getting Critical Race Theory out of our schools is not only a matter of values, it's also a matter of national survival. We have no choice...if we allow the Marxists and Communists and Socialists to teach our children to hate America there will be no one left to defend our flag." If Trump wins in 2024 I guess the next step for the GOP will be to just line up teachers against a wall and have them shot for ruining our kids.

That doesn’t sound like free speech

Or do we wait until the first incited mass shooting to debate?

jhmd? Thoughts?

Alabama Republicans telling everyone else what is divisive and punishing people for teaching it has the same energy as the Tennessee Republicans allowing rapists to sue victims for having an abortion. It’s all about punishing people who call out evil and stand up against it.

According to this NY Times article, it turns out that a majority of the people who are complaining about public schools don't actually have children in them.

She also implied that historical events like the Holocaust should be taught from a "both sides" perspective, such as having students write a paper from the perspective of a Jewish person in the Holocaust and then a German soldier - the soldiers were Nazis, of course.

Kids just need to watch that documentary musical "the Producers" for the german side...

Who even thinks "Kids shouldn't be taught that race or racism is systemic or has had a role in the development of our country" while also thinking "Kids should write a paper about being a German soldier during the holocaust, they should see both sides."

White House press secretary Jen Psaki slapped down Fox News reporter Peter Doocy — again — on Monday when she asked if he could name any sex education program in a Florida kindergarten that would justify the state’s new “Don’t Say Gay” law.

Doocy had pressed Psaki on the Biden administration’s opposition to the highly controversial law, which bans discussion of gender identification and sexual orientation in classrooms from kindergarten through third grade.

In a peculiar question, Doocy asked, “Does the White House support that kind of classroom instruction before kindergarten?”

Psaki shot back: “Do you have examples of schools in Florida that are teaching kindergarteners about sex education?”

“I’m just asking for the president’s opinion ...” Doocy started to respond.

Psaki: “I think that’s a relevant question” because the law is nothing more than a “politically charged, harsh law that is putting parents and LGBTQ+ kids in a very difficult, heartbreaking circumstance.”

You just know Doocey faps to memories of Psaki induced humiliation. Big Roman Roy/Gerri energy.

I believe that something like 41% of math textbooks in Florida were rejected under new anti-CRT "curriculum guidelines." This is truly nuts, yet DeSantis just continues to coast to reelection with a record war chest. What a time to be alive.

That’s the anti-Common Core part of the legislation but either way, it’s ridiculous to ban so many books. The right keeps moving so far to the right that they will eventually back themselves into a corner. From that corner, everyone else will look like woke CRT groomers.

Actually, it is Common Core. Wasn't that approved by Jeb Bush, of all people?

They’re already there…or pretty damn close.

I mean, how else could stupid, dishonest, destructive shit like this be considered a winning strategy?
