North Carolina charter school teacher resigned after telling Black students that they would be her "field slaves" if not for the Constitution.

A parent told NBC affiliate WITN of Washington, North Carolina, about the Winterville Charter Academy teacher's remarks.
“She had them raise their hand during a constitutional lesson and reminded them that if it wasn’t for the Constitution, they would be her slaves. Her field slaves,” Kanisha Tillman told the news station.
Tillman has a child in the class.

They don’t learn how to teach our history.

They don’t learn how to teach our history.

Can you blame them? How are we supposed to teach history without granite monuments to famous traitors to point to in the public square? What do you expect, using books?!?

Guess that explains why Southlake Carroll's mascot is the Dragons

It’s an interesting listen on multiple levels. Perry and the teachers are just trying to follow the law. So it’s pretty ugly politics that Texas Republicans have passed a education law that teachers and administrators don’t know how to follow.

The only reason the Holocaust is in any way controversial is anti-Semitic conservatives casting doubt on the Holocaust for decades.

The chaos of all this is the point. They want everyone on edge.

It's worth pointing out again that some posters on this very board assured us that this wouldn't happen - that all these anti-CRT laws were narrowly focused and wouldn't prevent teachers from discussing racism, sexism, homophobia, and all the rest in their classrooms. And yet here we are - and of course that was the real intent of these laws all along. Frighten and intimidate teachers and school administrators and keep them from discussing such topics as much as possible.

Maybe the students could turn their teachers in to the school resource officer and get a free ice cream coupon from the cafeteria.

yeah, i was about to say they haven't been doing a good job teaching children how to read and write for decades. their hate is taught at home.
