Banning Critical Race Theory

https://www.theroot.com/maybe-white-people-should-feel-bad-1847918518

Imagine if your doctor didn’t inform you that you had cancer because he didn’t want to upset you. Somehow, racism is the only issue on the entire landscape of American problems that we think we can fix by not talking about it. Even those who don’t believe in climate change are more than willing to talk about it. Politicians on both sides are more than willing to shout their opinions about gun control vs. the right to bear arms. We can openly debate taxing the rich, terrorism and sexual misconduct, even though it might make predatory capitalists, predator drone manufacturers and sexual predators feel bad. Yet, when it comes to race, we avoid the subject like the plague just so we can spare white people’s feelings.

And I’m not saying that all white people be lying.
Some of them are just dumb.
America loves Social Security, Medicare, farm subsidies and the military but they hate “socialism” because they don’t know what the word means. They love to quote Martin Luther King but have no idea that most white people disapproved of him when he died. Forty-one percent of Americans believe something other than slavery caused the Civil War. Forty-six percent don’t know that the 13th Amendment is what ended slavery.
And the reason they don’t know these objective facts is that their teachers, their textbooks and America’s entire education system didn’t want white people to feel bad. They still don’t want white people to feel bad. And all these new anti-CRT laws are feeble attempts at ensuring that white people won’t feel bad in the future.

Imagine if some one posted an op-ed as fact from a website that subtitled itself, "The Blacker the Content the Sweeter the Truth."

And then claimed we don't discuss race enough. You'd be hard pressed to take them seriously.

Could you imagine someone posting here from sites with the "Whiter the Content, the Sweeter the Truth."

That is just a convoluted rehashing of the tired “White Entertainment Television/White History Month” whining joke. White people don’t need those things because we’ve historically controlled society by default - which is why minorities feel the need to distinguish projects that cater to their experience as minorities in American white cis-hetero society.

BET or Black History Month is quite different from equating race with truth.

You added an unrelated group and failed to show how being in the minority makes you more truthful.

The lesbian mixed race marriage parents who are Godmothers' to my child would also question how such a site could claim we don't talk enough about racism. And we don't agree on too many candidates.

I see the conservative I have a black friend has evolved to I have a black friend who is also a lesbian parent, just to cover extra bases.

All white and all Republican in a state where blacks make up around 27% of the population and non-Latino whites are only about 65% of the total population. And some wonder why these folks might not be comfortable with public high school students having discussions of systematic racism and racial incidents in American history.

Never said she was black. I was challenged on cis-gender and gay rights. The most precious thing in my life is my child, who I'd gladly leave to her Godmothers. You know shit about me. Blow me.

And Ph, that poll is shit. First, the Emancipation Proclamation freed all slaves in state of rebellion and the 13th Amendment closed it to the Northern States. I doubt many folks would have answered 13th Amenedmnet if it wasn't one of two asnwers. The poll should have left the questions open and you should know that as a social science guy.

Does “many” mean most? Or majority? Please define before we continue.

By the time these clowns are through the only textbook that will be allowed in HS American History classrooms will be A Patriot's History of the United States, and a panel of "patriot parents" at each school will determine the books and novels that are allowed to be read.
