Pro Hoops Deacs - Jake LaRavia with 89 points in last three games of the season

It's certainly interesting, but it's missing the context that Jake played 35.1 minutes per game in ACC play. So the "without Jake" numbers are only about 4.9 minutes per game.

And Jake actually played more than 35.1 in a lot of games, but was way under his average MPG in a few due to foul trouble, Duke and Miami being two of those games, so having a lot of the "without Jake" minutes being against good offensive teams also skews things a bit.

very fair points

the 2 minutes of garbage time vs. Louisville during which our KP ranking fell 7 spots come to mind as well

The Bucks have worked LaRavia twice now, and are intrigued. The Bucks pick 24th. Apparently, Bobby Portis is expected to turn-down his player option and go to FA. Here is the summary on the Bucks and LaRavia and the link:

Projected first-round pick Jake LaRavia visited with the Milwaukee Bucks and worked out for the team twice, league sources told HoopsHype.

LaRavia is projected 26th overall in our LIVE aggregate HoopsHype mock draft. Find out why executives and scouts like his game, which former All-Star he’s compared to, and more in our HoopsHype interview.

Pro Hoops Deacs - LaRavia and Alondes invited to NBA Combine

Listening to one of the Spurs podcasts and they LOVE Jake at 25. #ihopemyteamdraftshim

I’d be shocked if he falls out of the 1st round.

Portis isn’t going to leave the Bucks though. He’s just going to resign for more money, right?

Portis is not a lock to return to Milwaukee because there aren't a ton of attractive free agents this off season. From Hoops Hype:

After previously taking a discount to re-sign with the Milwaukee Bucks, many around the league expect Bobby Portis to decline his $4.6 million player option for the 2022-23 season and enter unrestricted free agency.

Portis is one of the top free agents on the market this summer after averaging career-highs in points (14.6) and rebounds (9.1) per game. He ranks 12th in our HoopsHype free agent rankings and should command a massive pay raise this summer.

Oh shit. I hope the Spurs get him. Portis would be a great fit. How much can the Bucks pay him? If they can’t, taking Jake and signing a Jeff Green type veteran for cheap makes sense.

There is so much disinformation on the eve of a draft that its hard to know what to believe, but credible sources indicate that there are a few teams looking at Jake toward the end of round 1. Also, all of those teams have good reputations for evaluating talent (also a good sign for LaRavia). Other than a long NCAAT run, there is nothing better to build a program's cache than putting guys in the NBA, and it's even better when they contribute on relevant NBA teams. Looking like Jake may have that opportunity. Hope so.

cachet, not cache.

Last night, the ESPN mock draft with Bilas et al had Jake going to the Warriors.

247 has Jake going #26 to the Rockets in their mock. I saw him mocked there to the Mavs before the Wood trade, but this is the first time I've seen him mocked to the Rockets. He'd likely be playing with Banchero.

Hollinger has Jake going #28 to the Warriors.

[h=3]28. Golden State Warriors[/h] [h=3]Jake LaRavia | 6-9 junior | PF | Wake Forest[/h] Championship runs don’t give you a lot of time to work on the draft. The Warriors were doing their best by shoehorning June draft workouts into the days when the team wasn’t either in Boston for the NBA Finals or drunkenly celebrating winning the title (they just had their parade 48 hours ago).
Financially, there is one clear trade option here: Golden State could trade down with Indiana (pick 31) and draft a player who would make the league minimum next year. Because the Warriors’ luxury tax and repeater penalties make every marginal salary collar cost about six times more, exchanging the rookie scale of the 28th pick for the rookie minimum at pick 31 would save the team several million.
As far as actual basketball stuff goes, I love LaRavia’s fit in Golden State. He’s not an iso-ball guy but can do a lot of stuff in a motion system with his passing and cutting, and he held up pretty well defensively on switches.

Seems Alondes is more likely than not to go undrafted, right?

His stock seems to be dropping. It may come down to whether or not he's willing to take a two-day deal.

Always interesting when news reporters you follow tweet about one of your interests. This guy is a big time reporter on the disinformation beat: QAnon, antivaxx, Big Lie, etc stuff

lol wtf

(However, believe it or not, one team actually told LaRavia's camp that they were disappointed to learn he was only 20 years old and subsequently showed less interest, for some reason.)

Bleacher Report's final mock draft has Jake to the Warriors at 28 and Alondes to the Wiz at 56.

i'd put money on Alondes not getting drafted

NBA TV’s mock has Jake going #18 to the Bulls. That’s the highest I’ve seen by a lot.
