Since we're talking birds, saw 2 great blue herons last night hanging out around the trout pound at about 8300' elevation. One flew right over me and the sound of his wings was really cool.

i was in maine the first two weeks of august staying at a place on a lake. there was a bald eagle nest there and some juveniles and they wouldn't shut the fuck up. kind of annoying.

the loons were cool, though

@Birdman I saw two Osprey's hunting in the surf yesterday on Sullivan's Island. Really cool. Have seen plenty of them over the years, but usually more on the sounds/marshes, not over the surf/ocean. They're a top 5 bird for me, I think.

Are they removing existing content or preventing new uploads? I just spent $5 last night for a video that would definitely be classified as explicit. If I only get to beat to it once I'm going to be pissed.

I considered leaving Wake my freshman year to go work with a buddy on a farm and share a cabin on the property.

Yeah, The mountains are out side it's range, but some times after breeding they wonder a bit or it's migrating. I am guessing that bird was passing through on it's way back south. Probably used to hang out at boat ramps up north in the breeding range and fishermen would toss it left over bait at the end of the day/trip. So it saw a boat ramp and thought "oooh, free food!" It keeps coming back after being disturbed because it's smart enough to associate boat ramps with free food, but not smart enough to tell difference between canoers and fishermen.
