lol ats was confused by his wife not liking BoB and speculated it's because there are no women in it

to which I said yeah it's basically the nurse in Bastogne

and digg said well there's no way they could even put more women in because everybody in E company is a man

and I said they didn't have mothers, sisters, girlfriends?

and he seems to think that to include them as part of the men's story would be shoehorning them in, which
 
This one woman in our operations group who I have to interact with daily, sometimes multiple times per day, has her Outlook set to request a read receipt for every single email she sends. I’ve never seen this before and it’s absolutely infuriating.

TBH, it's mostly because my wife has bad taste in TV shows and movies. But that's because she identifies as female. It seems to be a widespread problem. Otherwise how can you explain Grey's Anatomy and why it is continuing for an 18th season?

i mean, the story is not about the families of Easy Company. The show is peak Dad WWII Porn but that doesn't mean it isn't good. i'm not sure it's annoying to discuss the lack of female protagonists but I definitely think writing in home-front stuff would muddy the rather effective narrative. IMO, The Pacific suffered because it was a less-cohesive story.

also, don't forget about the hot german chick that Tom Hardy bangs in the one of the last eps

i really like BoB! hell i even own and have read Webster's book, which has a lengthy appendix with letters home to mom and dad

i understand that the way that ambrose and hanks et al have told the story is not about the families

i just don't think it's crazy to imagine the story being told a different way, or different stories being told at parts of the mini series (and some of those stories might even include women)

i don't think home front stuff would necessarily have muddied the narrative, esp. if included in the first two or the last episode (for example)
