So excited about Madrid's young players. Awesome setup by Camavinga on the Rodrygo goal.

I actually don't hate this iteration of a Super League. Make it a meritocracy and relegate the bottom team from each country back into their domestic league each season. Using UEFA current coefficient numbers:

England (4) - Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U
Spain (4) - Barca, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla
Germany (3) - Bayern, Dortmund, Leipzig
Italy (3) - Juve, Roma, Napoli
France (2) - PSG, Lyon
Portugal (2) - Porto, Benfica
Other - Shaktar, Ajax, Salzburg

18 "top 6" teams, 3 qualifiers from other European leagues

The lowest finishing team from each of the Top 6 leagues is relegated back to their domestic league and replaced by their domestic champion. The teams in the Super League do not play in their domestic leagues, however they still play in domestic cups. The second and third placed "other teams" are thrown back into an end of season qualifying tournament with other non Top 6 domestic league champions, unless the finish in the top half.

Honestly there is just too much soccer these days, I'm fine with a separate elite division as long as there is a chance for every European team to compete in it. 21 teams in the super league, with no CL ties to worry about means 40 league/European games. Add in a playoff at the end for the top 8 finishers and its 45 games total.

As an Everton fan I would love this because we'd have a realistic chance of winning the PL. The prize would Super League qualification the next season, and there is honestly much more room for success than in our current system. I also won't miss playing the soulless oligarch and hedge funds clubs. I'm sure the FA would find a way for us to play Liverpool every season in some cup anyways.

Recalibrate the coefficients every 5 years based on super league finish. There should always be 6 league with 18 spots and 3 wild cards. However the slots allocated to each league, and which leagues are Top 6, can change.

The other component that would help this would be creating a luxury tax for the Super League. Every tax dollar would be sent down to the domestic clubs/FAs of the team taxed.

The fact is that European football is mirroring much of the western world currently, income inequality is out of control. Teams with billions of dollars of cash reserves from state and tax evasion should not be playing in the same football league as Norwich.

Just let the parasites play each other and hopefully everyone will die in theirs arms race. Let the decent football folk have their leagues too. It will make it a lot more fun for those of us who root for actual clubs, not corporations or proxy states.

Said by an Everton Football Club supporter, not a supporter of a club like PNE or fucking Scunthorpe or something.

Your club is a whore to money too but you just aren't pretty enough to fetch a better price.

It is just so rich that somebody that supports a club that has never been relegated from the Premier League is on a high horse about "super clubs" being too dominant in the sport. Sorry, but your club is more "dominant" than well over 90% of clubs in England. But nice to know you draw the line past wherever you think Everton can achieve success. SO MAGNANIMOUS OF YOU!

You wish to draw the line at clubs that bring in nearly billions. Clubs below you laugh at your arbitrary line in the sand. And you even mentioned income inequality. Fantastic.

That’s fair. But the soulless conglomerate you support actually tried to destroy modern football a few months, and mine didn’t. So your going to have to deal with these types of barbs from time-to-time.

What do you think about my idea?

Oh man. Traore for Shaktar with what appeared to be a very bad leg break early on in the Inter game.

On a team with Messi, Mbappe, Neymar, and Di Maria, PSG's leading scorers this season are Idrissa Gueye and Ander Herrera with 4 each.

Porto’s keeper having a horrendous night. Three of the four goals are mostly/entirely his fault.

Still wondering how KdB avoided VAR red today. Pretty much a horror challenge.
