Overwhelming buzz over the Norfolk State Spartans invading Truist Field on Saturday.

The particulars:

Noon kickoff
ACCN Extra (essentially this means that the game is available on-line via ESPN3)

Spartans are 0-1. They lost their opener at Toledo (who is good) 49-10. Toledo out-gained NSU 441-272. NSU gave up 13 yards per pass; so, they appear to have issues in the secondary. The current line is WF -43 O/U is 61.5.

NSU didn't play football in 2020. In 2019, the Spartans went 5-7 which included a 24-21 loss to ODU. The last time NSU played a Power V opponent, they lost 63-13 to Rutgers in 2015.

The Spartans QB is Juwan Carter. This is his 3rd year as a starter, and was the 1st team all-MEAC QB in 2019. Their starting TB JJ Davis is a Cincy transfer.

NSU has a new HC Dawson Odums. He is from Shelby, NC, and had a great run at Southern U going 53-17.

Deacs can name the score. The first priority will be getting through the game with no injuries. The second priority will be revealing nothing that will help FSU prepare for September 17.

It will be a huge disappointment if we don't score at least 50 on them.

I think Clawson will get one score out of Hartman in the 2nd half before sitting him, and maybe we get 10 pts. from mostly subs the rest of he way (good opportunity to let Skiba try one from 40+ in game action, as we may need it next week).
So if we are to get 50 or more, 35 or so will most likely come in the 1st half.

Get a 21-0 or 28-0 lead by early or mid second quarter, then substitute liberally.

We have plenty to work on after last week, but our second unit O-line needs to be prepared to dominate, as that will help run clock, cut down on injuries and get this over with.

Our special teams should also dominate, which will end this early, ideally.

Two patsies before playing an FSU team that played ND. Hope Wake is ready next Saturday.

If Wake weren't full of guys that have played a lot of football, it might be something to worry about. If they don't play well, it won't be because of the previous opponents.

Does anyone have a link to stream this? My normal site does not list the wake game.

So this isn't on Youtube TV, and the only way to watch it is through ESPN3?

Yes. If you have ACCN, you should have ACCN Extra on the ESPN app or ESPN.com.

Wake forced fumble and recovery on the first play, but it should come back. The Norfolk State player was down.

Shaky first possession for the defense. Gave up 3rd and 6 and 3rd and 10, three first down total. Norfolk State up 3-0 after a 6:36 drive.
