Official 2021-22 NBA Offseason Thread - Warriors extend Poole and Wiggins

Official 2021-22 NBA Offseason Thread - Ish traded to Nugs; Dejounte to Hawks

depends on what the deal ultimately is but it’s reasonable the nets could be better in the long run that this is happening. It’s not like their super team was accomplishing anything anyway. you can try to stick it to Durant or you can flip him for likely some strong assets to replenish the roster and move on. I’ve seen people commenting that they gave up their strong young core to get the super team, and that’s true, but they could easily re-establish that with a good trade

They might not be championship favorites (lol) this season but they should hardly exit this scenario barren and destitute

The Hawks got a defensive minded PG to play with their scoring PG.

The T-Wolves got a DPOY C to play with their scoring C.

Let's find out if it works.

KAT and Gobert are gonna be making a combined ~$100M a year in a couple season. Doesn't feel like paying 2 bigs that kind of a dough is a winning formula, but you do you, Minny!

T-Wolves are sending Beasley, Pat Bev, Kessler (2022 1st), Vanderbilt, and multiple first to the Jazz.

That's a good haul for an elite defensive C who doesn't seem like a key piece for a championship team especially if he's playing with another C.

Holy shit. 4 picks and a slew of good role players without knowing if the guy and stay on the court with your best (or soon to be second best player)? Wow.

4 1st round picks? Were other teams offering anything close to that? Are you telling me the Jazz don't make the deal if T-wolves only offer 3 first round picks? I believe three of those first round picks are unprotected. Understand Minnesota expects to be good in the next few years, but that seems like a lot for an over 30 big that has probably already had his best seasons.

Ya need Gobert to make up for Russell's defense. Will be an interesting team

I mean...is Russell still going to be on that team?

Pilch, Rudy just turned 30 this week so he's still in his prime.

Bigs generally age quicker. This will be Gobert's 10th NBA season, and he's played 611 games plus 49 playoff games. That is a lot of wear and tear for a 7 footer. The T-wolves are intriguing, would be happy for that team to become a title contender, but that's a heavy price to pay for a good, but not a great player, who if he isn't on the downside now, he will be soon. Also, his contract is an anchor:

2022-23: $38 million
2023-24: $41 million
2024-25: $44 million
2025-26: $47 million

Maybe, Gobert's worth that next year, but those last couple of years could be a poison pill.

don't know anything about Kessler but feels like the rest of the guys are pretty fungible
