2021-22 Men's College Basketball Season - UNC v. Kansas for the Natty

Should also add that St Louis is blowing out BC and Cuse lost to a mediocre Georgetown team. Clemson beat Drake in OT.

I’m a lifelong Georgetown fan. That team is not mediocre, they’re bad. Played very well today relative to the extremely limited roster they have, but I wouldn’t say mediocre yet. Super young real with no playable center.

What did I saw a couple days ago? The SEC is like the UNC of conferences. Media darlings but really it’s all a fraud.

LSU did come back and beat GT pretty handily but GT is bad. I agree about the SEC (and I despise the SEC so this makes me happy).

2021-22 Men's College Basketball Season - ACC Now A Low-End Power Conference

VT about to lose at 6-4 Dayton

State tied with #1 (for now) Purdue with 2.1 sec left.

Comedy of errors here. Pack had the ball and threw up a crazy lay up. Purdue got the board and State slapped it out of bounds with 2.1 left. Purdue inbounded from the sideline and chucked it out of bounds. State inbounded from the same spot and bounce passed it out of bounds. Two inbounds. No time off the clock.

State was up 13 and Purdue came back to send it to OT.

Purdue won by 10. Complete collapse by State.

Is VT actually good? 1-4 against KP top 100 teams. The only win against Maryland in a tailspin.

Yeah they don’t look anything like what we were led to expect going into that game in Blacksburg.

AP Poll

Duke #2
UNC only other school getting votes

When's the last time only 1 in top 25 and only 2 getting votes.

LOACC

FSU looks super sketchy. Barely got past Tulane and BU at home. Blown out by Purdue. South Carolina is OK this year, but another L.

Cuse is all over the place.

Guessing Virginia is going to gather themselves by conference play, they lost some brutal close games ooc that hurts.

Clemson 1-5 against KP top100 teams.

GT playing a tough non-conference, but have yet to beat a good team.

Notre Dame showing life after a bad BC loss, Kentucky win is solid.

State's best win is Louisiana Tech.

Louisville lost to Depaul and Furman at home.

Who do we know is a real good team besides Duke? North Carolina could be there, at least on offense. WF is next in the conversation.

Like I keep telling people... we're finishing 3rd.

A few of notes about today's AP poll:

- After destroying a strong Villanova team 57-36, Baylor is the unanimous #1. Baylor has played 4 top 10 teams, and has won those 4 games by an average of 21 ppg. Scott Drew has it going, as the Bears are 37-2 since the start of last season.
- Iowa State was the worst Power conference team in the nation last year. The Cyclones went 2-22 last year (0-18 in conference) beating only Jackson State and Ark. Pine-Bluff. ISU fired coach Steven Proehm and hired TJ Otzelberger. Like WF, ISU brought in a wave of transfers. Iowa State is now 10-0, ranked #10 with wins over Iowa, Memphis and Xavier. In the day and age of transfer portal, teams can go from horrific to strong in one year.
- 7 unbeatens remain:

Baylor
Arizona
Iowa State
LSU
USC
San Francisco
Colorado State

Baylor @ Iowa State on New Year's Day should be fun.

TJ Otzelberger can coach, it seems.

Or, said another way, #coachingmatters

Is Bill Russell, III playing for San Fran?

Don't sleep on the Dons. 4-0 against KP top100 teams.

Their first two conference games are @Saint Mary's then @Gonzaga. That will tell you a lot.

Not sure how easy it is to move up on NET at this stage of the season (still very early), but the ACC only has six teams rated in NET's top 75.

A Quad 1 win is defined as:

#1-30: home
#1-50: neutral
#1-75: away

Wake currently has one quad 1 win. It should go without saying that it is in Wake's best interest for Northwestern to move up to the top 30. They're currently #42.

Unless there is major movement, Wake will only have one (maybe two if UNC moves up from #34 to #30) opportunity to earn a quad 1 win at home during conference play.
