Team Offense Records compared to this season.

Points per game: 36.0 (2020); 44.7
Total points: 459 (2017); 402
Total yards: 6,055 (2017); 4,579
Total yards per game: 465.8 (2017); 508.8
First downs: 320 (2018); 227

Note: This shows how unreal the offense has been this season. Last year’s record setting team averaged 36 points. This year’s team hasn’t scored less than 35. This team is only 3 points behind Pittsburgh for #1 in the nation.

Passing
Total offense yards: 3,875 (John Wolford, 2017); Hartman 3,159
Total offense yards per play: 7.54 (John Wolford, 2017); Hartman 8.70
Total TDs responsible for: 39 (John Wolford, 2017); Hartman 35
Passing TDs: 29 (John Wolford, 2017); Hartman 27
Season Passing Efficiency 158.0 (John Wolford, 2017); Hartman 168.9

Note: A few more records are in reach, but these are the ones Hartman will likely break.

Receiving

Most 100 yard games: 8 (Wayne Baumgardner, 1979); Perry 5
Receiving yards: 1,330 (Chris Givens, 2011); Roberson 848; Perry 845
Touchdown Receptions: 12 (Kenny Duckett, 1980); Perry 10; Roberson 8
Average yards per reception: 20.06 (Donavon Greene, 2020); Perry 20.12

Note: Dortch (2018) is second in receiving yards at 1,078. Roberson and Perry will almost certainly finish above Dortch. If we make the ACCCG, they’ll challenge for #1.

Feel free to add any I may have missed.

Bonkers. Is this offensive also paired with an historically bad defense?

last year's defense yielded 435.7 yards per game, which is 9th-worst all-time

so far, this year's defense has yielded 435.3 yards per game, 10th-worst all-time

1981 team yielded 488.7 yards per game for the program record

Roberson still with a shot at a career record:

Career 100-yard receiving games:

Proehl 12
Clark 11
Baumgardner/Givens 10

Roberson 9

Didn't Hartman break Wolford's career TD pass record this past weekend?

Crazy to think Sam has 2 more years of eligibility left.

Most points ever given up by the defense seems within reach, especially if we play 14 games.

I've been assured by the experts that looking at stats like yardage and points is far too simplistic.

Really need the advanced stats like EPA and stop rate to get a solid read on this defense.

Tied with Skinner at 60 passing TDs; Wolford had 59

Wolford had 78 total TDs including 19 rushing; Hartman has 73; Skinner 65

the records that result from the new redshirt rule and free Covid season will last for a long-ass time

I didn’t include career records for that reason. Plenty will be broken.

I didn't really bother to look up career records because it's obvious Hartman will break Skinner's yards record next year. But I didn't consider that he could break it this year.

Hartman has 7,911 yards. Skinner's record is 9,762 yards. Hartman needs 1,851 yards. It may be a stretch in 4 games but if we make the ACCCG, it's within reach.

Rivers holds the ACC record with 13,484 yards. Pickett (11,501) could catch him with roughly 2,000 yards over his last 5 games. If Howell (9,931) sticks around next year he could very easily move up to number one.

If Hartman plays 5 more games this year and 13 next year, 338 yards per game over 18 games gets him to 14,000 for his career with one season of eligibility remaining. I am seeing some websites supporting his NFL prospects but I would be surprised if he leaves after this season.

Edited to add that according to this list, WF has more QB's (7) on the top 50 ACC all-time list than any other school. At least until Gary Schofield falls out.

I'll add we likely will have a player on Heisman watch.

Just wanted to pile on
