2023 WF Baseball - Schedule Released

interesting to see wade in a high leverage spot. he’s earned it with his pitching so far.
 
Wilken has been all but a guaranteed out for quite a while with a homer sprinkled in here and there. We need him to figure it out.
 
Still at #8 in RPI (and still ahead of UVA). We made it through this ACC buzzsaw of an opening schedule just fine paired with our great OOC showing so far.
 
Really needed this one. Meanwhile, State swept GT. GT not looking like a top program this year.

They took 2/3 from UGA. They are still a top 15 team at the moment based on their strength of record.
 
Deacs need to pile up some wins this week. WF plays Coastal at home on Wednesday. Coastal has beaten WF and Clemson, but they have struggled overall at 13-9-1 (2-3-1 in the Sun Belt). This weekend the Chants lost two of three to ULM.

WF heads up to Boston for a series at BC this weekend.

BC's pitching has been a mess. The Eagles are 9-14 (1-8 in the ACC). In BC's nine ACC games, BC has given up: 11, 11, 12, 7, 18, 16, 6, 10 and 15. That's an average of 12 runs surrendered in 9 ACC games.

does Coastal throw the #1 starter in midweek games against WF/Clemson/etc., and try to get by within their conference with weaker SP?

No. Coastal has pitched mediocre long guys in those games. When Coastal beat Clemson last week, they out-slugged them 16-7.
 
next nine is the easiest stretch of the conference season. would love to go 7-2 or better
 
MUST WIN vs. coastal. mascolo getting the start again -- will be interesting to see if keener is gonna piggyback. he pitched out of the pen against uva.

Coastal's starter has yielded 6 hits and 3 earned runs through 5 innings pitched on the year; he is one-hitting us through 3

(the coastal guy does have a good track record despite limited play this yr)
