2023 WF Baseball - Schedule Released

Definitely would have to have Bill Merrifield in any goat discussions for Wake….back to back Acc player of year awards in early 80s.

The conversion of Derek Crum from OF to pitcher is interesting. Crum started as an OF in 2020 and was decent. Barely played as an OF last year. This Summer, Crum was a two way player, and had 22Ks in 12 innings. Realize that Crum's two appearances this year have come in blow out wins, but he has velo, and looks very impressive. Can never have too many arms.

Diamond Deacs play a rare 4 game series against NJIT starting Friday (DH on Saturday; single game on Sunday).

NJIT is 2-1 with wins over Gardner-Webb and Bellarmine. NJIT lost to UVA 8-3. NJIT won the America East Conference last year, and played in Fayetteville, AR regional last year winning a game.
