Had a fun day yesterday. It was packed. Parking lots filled and closed fairly early. Spent the first few hours hanging out in and around the clubhouse. The amount of construction done in the past few years is amazing. Much of it is unrecognizable. Saw Nicklaus, Watson, Ray Floyd, Hale Irwin (hard to recognize him now), Peyton Manning, and had a quick chat with Jim Nantz.
Some places were very windy, especially the higher elevations closer to the clubhouse. Not so much down around Amen Corner. Spent the most time watching from the 16th tee area where you can see approaches to the 15th green and then the whole 16th. Almost everyone laid up on the 15th and then about a third of their third shots went over the green. The pin placement on 16 was upper left…..very difficult to get close. 18 was brutal - a lot of bogeys and double bogeys. I have no idea who will win, but I think DJ, Scheffler and Will Z have a shot.
