8. Wake Forest

The Demon Deacons return a loaded roster after just the second 11-win season in school history. Quarterback Sam Hartman should start the season as a Heisman candidate leading what could be the nation’s most explosive offense outside of Alabama and Ohio State. If the defense improves, this could be the nontraditional breakthrough team. Clemson, Wake’s annual problem, must come to Winston-Salem in 2022.

i think nc state will be ranked higher than wake going into the season

Another great way-to-early post, especially from a name like Pat Forde. Can only help us build as a program.

without pickett?

USC QB Kedon Slovis transferred to Pitt. If Slovis plays like he did as a Frosh (Pac 12 FOY) or Soph (1st team Pac 12), Pitt will be tough. If Slovis played like he did this year (11 TDs 8 Picks), Pitt will not be so tough. Also, before Whipple became the Pitt OC (he left for Nebraska), Narduzzi's offenses have been predictable, plodding an unimaginative. If Pitt goes back to pre-Whipple offensive scheme, Pitt could struggle

Oh yeah. Clemson, State, and Wake should all be preseason top 15. Pitt may be ranked in the Coastal. UNC and Miami may be as well.

Looking like seven ACC Atlantic teams will return their starting QB. Also, the worst of the lot is probably Clemson's DJ Uiagalele and he was a top 5 pre-season Heisman pick in 2021.

The ACC Atlantic could be one of the top divisions in college football next year.
