Ukraine is game to you?

You just posted the question what is worth fighting for while following up with how weak we have become. If Russia wants to do what Russia wants to do over there then nothing we do short of troops on the ground full scale war will stop them. There’s no weakness in that it’s just reality and Americans don’t want to be involved in another war. Sure everyone is going to bitch and complain because it’s another global happening that will do something that may effect the supply chain and makes it harder for them to buy some boutique cereal but sure beats dying.

Also should NATO members fulfill their obligations, absolutely, is saying the American tax payers are paying for them actually mean anything, fuck no. You think the American military budget would decrease if all of a sudden NATO members paid more, that’s the most laughable thing ever proposed. I mean shit we just ended a trillion dollar war and the defense budget increased.

European NATO members not paying their fair share in line with their treaty obligations is a problem of long-standing duration. Probably reaching back to the foundation of NATO. It did not just pop up out of the bushes the last few years. To suggest that if they had met their obligations during that time, or even did a considerably better job of trying to do so, would not have had any impact on American military budgets and not have resulted in savings for the US taxpayer is silly. We are talking about decades here, not one or two military budgets.

Good thing we gave DoD the extra $10B, looks like we are going need it for strength.

If we were fighting this war in space we’d be way ahead of the game. Oh well.

We're fighting the next war in space.

We folded in Afghanistan, in embarrassing fashion.

Sometimes you gotta take an “L”, we occupied Afghanistan for 20 years. We spent trillions of dollars in Afghanistan while we let venture capitalists strip Puerto Rico, an actual US territory, naked, let a hurricane destroy it, and privatized it’s infrastructure.

The US doesn't want to evacuate family members during the immediate likelihood of Russian military action.

Pretty straightforward. Some people don't think before they post such nonsense.

the problem was the way we took the L

Seems obvious, right? Makes you wonder what the hell our government was thinking in Spring of 2021.

Dumb idea. We don't want a nuclear war between Russia and Ukraine. Besides, by the time the nuclear arms arrived back in Ukraine, the Russian army would have overrun the country several times. So, we would in effect be giving nuclear weapons to the Russian army. It's one thing to give guns and helicopters to the Taliban. It's another to give nuclear weapons to the Russian military.

Also, we're a signatory to the Non-proliferation Treaty.

I thought the lit on MAD has been pretty clearly supported by the last 75+ years.

Agree on it being a spoil of war tho.

Oh here's a terrible idea.

Wait I thought we were suppose to show power!!!

We have more than enough instruments of power to exercise short of ground troops to fight the Russian army. Please take off your team's jersey and look at what's going on.

I'll go ahead and craft the alternate response if Biden didn't send troops.

Russia invades and all we do is levy sanctions, lob missiles, and bomb random targets? Talk about a spineless response.

No doubt, the 82 is going there to protect NATO allies, not to fight the Russians in Ukraine. Now, if they really wanted to be helpful, they would take plenty, and I do mean plenty, of natural gas with them.

Warmonger and chief board Afghan war cheerleader mockingly questions actions of other warmongers in pentagon and wh on not getting out of their war exactly right. you are something else
