Ukraine is game to you?

If anyone is interested in a position outside of the two political parties, here is DSA’ international committee’s statement on Ukraine:

Countries freely joining NATO because they’re rightly afraid of Russian invasion or domination doesn’t strike me as imperialistic.

I don’t think the US will go to war over Ukraine. But if Biden and NATO can deter a Russian invasion with diplomacy and a show strength that is the best case scenario for everyone including Russia.

Seems like the usual warmongers aren’t revving up the war machine.

It looks more like contrarians are on the sideline preparing to criticize whatever Biden does.

You mean like Wokeandbroke calling for Biden to show strength, then complaining when Biden sends the 81st airborne to Europe, then declining to offer any actual suggestions for a way forward when asked?

Interesting that they say nothing about Putin moving tens of thousands of Russian troops to the border of Ukraine

Also, interesting that their choice of color is red, the principal color of the Russian flag. Coincidence?

Fair. Greenwald was a published conservative earlier in his life before he helped launch The Intercept, and his focus has narrowed in the past 2-3 years away from broader populism towards 1st amendment anti-censorship illiberalism, which is why he was forced out of the leftist magazine that he founded. He is so paranoid about censorship that he wouldn’t allow anyone at the Intercept to edit his articles.
He left the intercept because he wanted to endlessly fact free muckrake over Hunter Biden after spending 4 years yelling Russiagate regarding any investigation into Trump.

He's so paranoid about censorship that he hasn't mentioned all of the books that are being banned in schools one time and retweets Christopher Rufo on the regular. He jumps on board any sort of right wing cancellation criticism train of any non fox establishment media figure with glee.

He's not principled Hes a right wing hack

What's the 81st airborne?

Stick to birds.

Right so focus on the typo instead of actually rebutting his message. Gotta give it to you, your tireless efforts to avoid answering questions or engaging in meaningful discussion are fascinating to watch.

"a typo" is charitable. Let's assume he meant to draw on his in-depth knowledge of defense matters and meant to correctly type "82d Airborne Division."

That still wouldn't be true, as there is a consequential (monumental) difference between a Division of paratroopers and the actual amount deployed. One would have been a show of force, the other is window dressing when compared to the size of the forces the Russians have amassed at the border. Damn typos will get you every time.

There you go, folks.

When you figure out the difference between a Division and 8500 people, we can continue the discussion about whether that is a sufficient show of force. Ready when you are.

So in your opinion is 8500 troops a sufficient show of force as that is the number of troops put on alert

if only all the numbers reported reflect actual, live deployments

He hasn't given his opinion yet. He will wait to see what Biden does and come down squarely on the other side.

“It’s a magazine, not a clip, clearly you are not qualified to discuss gun control.”

Just say one thing Biden should do here. One specific thing. I asked you like a week ago to articulate what you think should be done in this situation and admitted in that very same post that I am at a loss because it’s complicated and out of my league. You chose to ignore my question, preferring to just complain about Biden, make hilarious jokes about liberal bubbles. You’ve got a schtick and you schtick to it.

So DSA is in favor of ceding Ukraine to Russia. Thanks for the update.

If Russia invades, Biden’s fault. If Russia does not invade, tons of conservative praise for Putin led by Tucker.
