Thanks for the heads up.

I'm watching the highlights of the game vs. "Barking Abbey."

The opponent is listed as Barking Abbey, but they're playing at the University of Surrey at the home court of the BBL Surrey Scorchers and wearing BBL London Lions jerseys. Hard to tell who anybody is but it doesn't look like college age dudes. One dude who's name I could make out is Kyle Carey. He played at the other UNC (Northern Colorado) and scored 2.3 ppg in 2016-17.

The Wake starting lineup was Ituka, Williamson, Cam, Carr, and Marsh. Bradford played a little at the beginning but it looks like that was it. That's why I didn't notice him in the IG live feed. Not much to say about the highlights. Good play by Carr around the 3 min point. A few good plays by Monsanto later in the clips. Cam had some nice passes.

The guy filming seems like his mind is blown by plays that would seem ordinary to most Americans.

Whenever Marsh is done with basketball, he has a nice future playing a massive henchman (RIP Neil Fingleton). It's easy to imagine a hero getting a punch in and Marsh cracking his neck a bit before pummeling the hero.

We better tighten up that defense by the start of ACC play.

The "Paris All-Stars" that we played didn't have uniforms. The court was also smaller than normal. Clemson and Oklahoma also are playing teams called the "Paris All-Stars" today.

Any word on the Amsterdam game? They're supposed to be coming back today.

The last Wake hoops Twitter post is from yesterday.

Highly recommend watching the presser. Lots of info. In addition to the tragic Monsanto news:

Top 5 players over the Summer:

1. Carr (he's now 6-10.5 and 225; shoots the 3 better than Jake, not as good as a ballhandler)
2. Williamson
3. Appleby
4. Ituka
5. Cam

Keller will play next year. He shot 39% from 3 in the Summer practices and scrimmages. Marsh shot 82% from the field.

Conditioning was a point of emphasis for the Summer. Everyone on the roster, but one is under 10% body fat. Monsanto dropped 24 pounds and 6% body fat. Appleby gained 9 pounds and lost 2% body fat. Bradford dropped 21 pounds. Klintman is in Winston now. Since he missed the Summer workouts, the staff will make it a point of emphasis to get him caught up on the WF's system during early workouts

Three day a week workouts until Sept. 26. Sept. 26 is 42 days until the first game. Over that period, WF will have 30 practices/scrimmages and 12 days off. WF will scrimmage Ohio State, and play an exhibition against WSSU.

The nugget about high school recruiting was a little depressing: Forbes was asked if he thought the upgraded facilities were helping get traction on the trail, and his response was that when he's been recruiting lately the things he's heard folks are most interested in are, in order: NIL, playing time, playing style, relationships, facilities.

Yes, Forbes is clearly frustrated how NIL is dominating recruiting these days.

Facilities are nice, but Wake needed to get ahead of the curve and figure out how to pay players. Other schools are announcing collectives that are paying football and basketball players $30K+ each.

Forbes pronounces Bobi's name as "Bobby."

If they can't make the money at WF they will make it somewhere else. It's just a fact now, whether we like it or not.

Terrible news about Monsanto's sister. Thoughts are with him and his family.

It's a little disheartening that neither Taylor nor McCray seem to have stepped into an every day roll. He did mention that Taylor could be a versatile wing defender, but said McCray still turns the ball over too much.

If Monsanto is not one of our top 5 players, we are a tournament team. Also, Monsanto will be one of our top 5 players.
