A state holiday today in Alabama. How can this still be?

Virginia finally eliminated something called Lee-Jackson day in 2020.

Just for shits and giggles, June 4 is a holiday as well......Jefferson Davis' birthday.

There is precedent for honoring a traitor.

Pretty sure this should be on the politics board, but how are we defining "celebrate"? Like the kids don't go to school and government employees get the day off? Because that is wild.

The two places where a few college degrees might be helpful?

Florida too I believe. April 26 is our anniversary. Too bad my wife's name isn't "Dixie"....

Courthouses all over the state were closed except in Jefferson County (Birmingham) where the holiday is not acknowledged.

They lost the war but won the historical revisionism.
