Should we change the mascot to reverse the Wake Forest Curse?

Wake Forest sports always seem to have bad luck - is that due to our satanic mascot?
 
have the calamities been more, less, or the same since we left the Baptist Church?
 
The curse is irreversible! You should know that by now.
 
If anything, I think we need to fully embrace Satan, as God has clearly forsaken the Deacs.

The difference is that NC State's "curse" is that they frequently lose in frustrating, often funny, ways ("NC State Shit"), whereas Wake's curse is that we have like actual, non-humorous personal tragedies befall our programs (e.g., Skip's death, Hartman's whatever he has, our assistant basketball coach punching a guy and fucking killing him, etc). Losing a regular season basketball game by blowing a late lead against Purdue doesn't quite compare to our beloved coach being straight up murdered by God in his office.
 
Being a Wake Fan causes me to vacillate between the belief that there either is no God or that there is and she just hates Wake Forest.

It’s both. Nut punch, untimely March Madness illnesses, wrong WVU free throw shooter, last year’s unbelievable UNC football loss with what was at stake, et al… all frustrating, none tragic.
 
It's been a while, but the ball bouncing off Songaila's butt directly to Brendan Haywood's hands.

Howard's high ankle sprain in practice right before a HUGE potential win vs. Cincy.

Manning parking in handicap spaces on the weekend (always a bad omen).

Overselling tickets to the Joel prior to Duncan's senior year.

Justin Gray's mask.

Bzdelick and the keyboard (LOL).

Cleveland State debacle at the hotel or whatever.

How our holder basically handed the ball to Gaines Adams for the loss.

Fake tickets at Groves for drunk Va Tech fans.

Stubbornly continuing to play Navy, now Army, even though we all know that is not smart at all.

And much more, that seems weirdly unrelated but related across the decades...
