GT is going to make a crappy coaching hire

Any chance Mark Price ends up on his staff. Wake came very close to hiring him as assistant last year instead of Pope.

I would think that he would only bring on one assistant (Schmidt?) with him as he will really need to hire a couple guys with Atlanta and Southeastern ties.

From a PR and recruiting perspective it would definitely make sense to bring in someone with GT ties...Mark Price?

They're going to hire that loser Karl Brown to coach defense.

Anybody here remember Karl Brown? He was a 5'9" no-talent JUCO-transfer spaz who Cremins would send in to harrass the opposing point guard for 90 seconds at a time. Everybody thought he was an amazing "defensive specialist."

Greg Anthony and Anderson Hunt had to have fallen out laughing when that chump came out in the Final Four with Kenny Anderson.

I always think the "hire an alum!" idea doesn't make much sense. Does it really positively affect recruiting that much? Hire a good coach and let him create his own legacy.

Of course, STEVENS is the ultimate, but there are few out there.

Mods - can there be a :bradstevens. It would get used quite often.

It would show some guts to hire Mark Price. He would cast a big shadow over a new coach.

Brian Gregory quote from a interview yesterday(maybe Bz could take a lesson or two from him):

"In this day and age, with the way things are economically, you better make sure that the number one thing is that the product you are putting on the court, those [fans] can watch and can say 'you know what this team is playing extremely hard'," Gregory said.
