Fischer 1st Team Parade All-American

Congrats, Chase.

The big question about Buzz last summer was could he recruit; not a bad start so credit where credit is due.

I've been feeling pretty good about Bz' recruiting since Rountree signed. This news almost feels like a deliverance. CONGRATS CHASE!!!

This is awesome news. Chase does one thing really well and that is shoot the basketball. You can be a productive player at many levels if you are excellent at one thing. Hope he continues to hone that skill as well as work on the other parts of his game.

The only thing is that he will not be able to get up 28 shots a game here to get those scoring numbers.

Yes it is different.

Some of the nation's top high school basketball talent will be heading to Houston April 1 for the National High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.

Intersport, CBS Sports and MaxPreps.com will showcase 16 future college stars in the event, which will be held at the Berry Center at 7 p.m. CT Friday, April 1. It will be broadcast Sunday, April 3 (4:30-6 p.m. CT) on CBS Sports with numerous encore showings on CBS College Sports Network.

MaxPreps is selecting eight rim-rocking dunkers and eight long-range shooting specialists to compete. Details on participants will be released in the coming days.

.

So is this the competition we heard about a while ago?

Yeah, that question is looking better. Now the question is can he actually teach 18 year olds how to play basketball.

Boston College got the only pure center on the list. Makes me grumpy.

great news! congrats to Chase.

boy it's nice to put the "e" back on the end of Chase.

nice work Bzzz. First glimmer of hope since tip-off of our second round game against Kentucky last year.

Not concerned with the amount of shots. More concerned with how many go in vs. how many he takes :) His team obviously sucks, so he is jacking it a million times a game. But if he can be a true pure shooter that you know is good if he gets an open look (Like a Diebler for Ohio State). That puts a lot of pressure on the defense to account for you. My guess is that Chase won't come in and have an immediate impact, but I hope that by his sophomore and junior year that he is one of those players that defenses have to account for. This improves spacing, and improves the driving lanes for the rest of the team.

He averaged 6 assists and 6 rebounds with his 37 ppg. That is astonishing for high school. That means on any given night he is directly responsible for a minimum of 49 ppg for his high school team. Obviously he is the only good player on the team, but that is astonishing. It will be very different for him when he is only being guarded by one guy when he gets here. He can very clearly get his shot up from anywhere, and probably very quickly. I'm very excited to see what he can bring to the team next year.

Dino's recruit?

I thought Chase already had an offer before Bz got here? Wasn't that the initial excuse from the Bzzinners, due to his low rating, and poor competition?

No offer but we were recruiting him.

Deacsfan27, just to round out the stats, do you know how many turnovers he averaged? I thought I heard it was a really high number like 7 per game. . .
