What are you listening to right now?

Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker
Bebel Gilberto - Tanto Tempo
MJ Cole - Sincere
Emmylou Harris - Red Dirt Girl

all in rotation this morning

Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker

Not sure how anyone could dislike this album. I seem to remember rawarr had some gripes with it among the rest of Ryan Adams' work. But hot damn these songs are good.

ETA I remember now, I believe it was "Gold" that rawarr liked less.

Giving Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears a listen today. So far, I'm really digging it.

Scandalous is a good album. Livin in the Jungle is such a great song.

Echo the love for Ryan Adams' Heartbreaker.

Listening to Bar Chords from Bahamas right now.

Been listening to a lot of Mushroomhead recently, XX album is money.

Widespread Panic live from Aspen's Belly Up. Live on SiriusXM Channel 29 - Jam On.

Last show of 2012. Good stuff so far.

Starting off today with the new Fanfarlo on NPR (pretty good so far, really picks up after the morose opener).

Then got the following queued up on grooveshark:

Radiohead: Kid A
U2: All You Can't Leave Behind
Elliot Smith: Figure 8

Man the bass trombone and baritone sax on National Anthem. Radiohead slays me.

WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST AND CHILDREN FIRST AND CHILDREN FIRST

Is this the last good U2 album? Or was that even a decade earlier? IDK, there are some pretty solid songs on this album.

Ugh so there are these shitty cheeseball tunes like "Elevation," and then the album closes with "Grace." WTF U2 quit playing with my opinion of you!

Shit shit shit. I love this tune (Junk Bond Trader), but I could have sworn I just heard harpsichord in the intro.

OK for this afternoon, on to:

Badly Drawn Boy - Hour of Bewilderbeast
PJ Harvey - Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea
Erykah Badu - Mama's Gun

This is (somehow) my first time listening to this album. Wow, there's a lot of cool stuff on here. I especially like the opener "The Shining," "Camping Next to Water," and "Once around the Block." The latter is this sweet mix of jazz percussion, folk rock, and contemporary pop.

Coldplay - Parachutes (FOR SCIENCE, I TELL YOU)
Common - Like Water for Chocolate
Mike Ladd - Welcome to the Afterfuture

Should get me through to lunch

Much better than I remembered. A Song for Assata is some powerful stuff.
