Retired US Soccer / World Cup Thread (RIP)

Give me Daryl Dike. Kid is a stud.

If Dike commits to the US, will it be hard for WF fans to watch the NT? Morris linking up with Dike has to sting a bit

never disliked either of those guys, even when they were smoking the Deacs

Dike is just a beast

Can add DeMarcus Beasley to the list of “ex USMNT players that became horrible pundits”. Brutal at halftime of the Europa matches today.

The more I think about it, we’re slighting Sargent. He’s 20 and consistently starting for the team currently sitting 8th in a top three league in the world. Outside of Dempsey and peak 2009-11 Fulham, no other striker in US history can claim that, and he’s 20. Sure he’s not banging in goals regularly yet, but he’s playing well and his manager has complimented his improved tactical knowledge and work ethic.

2017 @T&T: Altidore (Toronto), Wood (Hamburg), Wondo (SJ)

2014 WC strikers: Altidore (Sunderland), Dempsey (Seattle), Johansson (AZ Alkmaar), Wondo (San Jose)

2010: Altidore (Hull City), Buddle (LA Galaxy), Finley (Salt Lake), Gomez (Puebla)

2006: McBride (Fulham), Johnson (KC), Wolff (KC), Ching (Houston)

2002: Donovan (San Jose), McBride (Columbus), Wolff (Chicago), Moore (Everton)

2001/02 Everton is probably the closest team to Bremen on that list, but they finished 15th that season, and Joe-Max was injured and rarely played. He moved back to MLS that summer.

Watching Bremen game since Pulisic pulled up injured in warmups. Sargent with a nice run and cool finish to put Bremen up 1-0.

Fuck to the yes

So excited about all these names, even if several are still prospects

Ledezma did make his first senior appearance this weekend for PSV and had an assist in 17 mins, and apparently impressed so much in training recently that he’s expected to get real mins moving forward.

Highlights include Musah, Cardoso, AND Otasowie in Midfield, dubious that Pulisic plays, Soto trying to force US hand seems to work (glad we called him), Gioacchini is a surprise up top to me as well. And I know nothing about Chituru Odunze at Leicester.

DCD has asked about creating a new thread, noting this one takes ages to load. Everyone else cool with that? Seems like this is a fitting time to turn the page
