hillary is a pathological liar

That video would have saved me about 67,456 words arguing on the Benghazi thread. Pretty much exactly what I said happened happened. 'Say it louder Candy' still infuriates me. She was a total schill for Obama and Romney just let the two of them walk all over him. Romney was probably going to lose the election anyway, but that night was his opportunity to go on offense and he completely botched it.

Don't think Mitt realized that Candy was willing to go face-first into the tank for the incumbent. I trust you all can make the appropriate jokes from this point.

Whether he anticipated it or not he fell flat on his face in the big moment. He would have made a great president in my opinion but he was a very below average politician. A Reagan or a Bill Clinton takes that moment and doesn't leave it until they have made their point. Romney let them push him around.

No doubt about that. He would have been a very good President. I might write him in this time.

So is the big deal that it was an unsecure server or is it because people think that there is some smoking gun in the correspondences that no longer exist, seems pretty conspiracy theory to me. Not to mention you could just use personal email for all your shady dealings.

We might need to discuss the nexus between FOIA and the First Amendment sometime..

Even beyond the fact that any American president should use better judgment than Clinton has demonstrated in this case (or that Powell or Rice demonstrated in the past - again, I don't care whether the letter next to their name is D or R), the private server allowed Clinton to circumvent FOIA and, by extension, exhibit a remarkable lack of accountability. That she continues to the double speak about what she did and didn't do (she's two steps away from ruminating on the definition of "is"), while avoiding speaking to the FBI, only adds to her appalling lack of judgment and accountability in this case.

The reality is that the American public will never know what business was or was not conducted on the private server. Nor will we ever know what information was exposed in one of the few breaches that were reported on the server.

What we do know, though, is that there are rules for a reason and you would expect a seasoned, savvy politician like Clinton to not be so careless with them. Her husband was able to get away with this bullshit because it was the 90s and, short of tabloid fodder, nobody really cared. This whole ordeal just displays remarkable arrogance and a lack of accountability in 2016.

Hillary Clinton Scheduled To Meet With FBI On Saturday
Former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to meet Saturday with the FBI, a source close to the investigation into her private email server tells The Daily Caller.

The source went on to suggest the interview may take place at her Washington, D.C. home.

The bureau’s interview with the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is believed to be the final step in its investigation into the potential mishandling of classified information on Clinton’s private email server.

Hundreds of now-classified documents — some of them “Top Secret” — were sent and received through Clinton’s private server, which she housed at her New York residence during her tenure at the State Department.

FBI investigators have already interviewed several Clinton aides, including her former chief of staff Cheryl Mills and her deputy chief of staff, Huma Abedin. Investigators have also interviewed Bryan Pagliano, the former State Department information technology specialist who maintained Clinton’s server. The Justice Department gave Pagliano limited immunity in exchange for his cooperation in the probe.

Clinton has no campaign events listed on her schedule which means that she will not be tailed by the usual pack of campaign reporters. The FBI has sought to avoid drawing attention to its probe by bringing in witnesses in secret. That strategy has been successful, as reports of the meetings have only come out after they were held.

Past interviews with Clinton probe witnesses have reportedly been conducted by FBI agents, lawyers with the Justice Department’s National Security division and prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Alexandria, Va.

The politician has not been asked in several weeks whether she had scheduled an interview with the government. Her last comments on the matter came in late May. She said then that her legal team had been in contact with the Justice Department but that “we do not have an interview scheduled.”

The meeting comes in the midst of a controversy involving another meeting — this one a secret conclave between Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton. The pair met on Lynch’s airplane on the tarmac of Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport on Monday.

Lynch claimed that Clinton initiated the meeting and that the pair talked for around a half hour. She has claimed that they discussed Clinton’s grandchildren, their travels, and former Attorney General Janet Reno, who served in Clinton’s administration.

She disclosed the meeting only after reporters asked her about it on Wednesday.

On Friday, Lynch expressed regret about meeting with Clinton but declined calls to recuse herself from the investigation. She said she will accept recommendations handed down by FBI officials and Justice Department attorneys.

“I certainly wouldn’t do it again because I think it has cast a shadow over how this case will be perceived,” Lynch said at an Aspen Ideas Festival event.

“Believe me, I completely get that question. I think it’s the question of the day,” she added.

She said she will be briefed on the investigation by FBI and Justice Department officials and that “I fully expect to accept their recommendations.”

Lynch was asked on Friday why she did not rebuff Clinton’s request to meet with her on her plane. She dodged the question.

FBI director James Comey is said to be closely watching the investigation. He has maintained that the probe will be free from political influence.

But many observers have said this week that Lynch’s meeting with Bill Clinton has tainted the integrity of the investigation.

On Thursday, Judicial Watch, the government watchdog group, asked the Justice Department’s inspector general to open an ethics investigation into Lynch’s conduct. The group pointed out that, in addition to the probe into Hillary Clinton’s activities, the FBI is reportedly conducting a public corruption investigation involving the Clinton Foundation.

The FBI did not respond to TheDC’s request for comment about Saturday’s planned meeting. The Clinton campaign also did not respond.

So was it illegal to use a private email server? Sounds like no. This is a "scandal" purely for political reasons. Can't imagine anyone giving a flying f about this is she weren't running for president.

Fast forward to 1:30. He mentions 4 laws that might have been broken. It's only not a big deal if you think certain politicians should be above the law. And keep in mind why this is even an issue- Clinton was trying to get around having to deal with FOIA requests. So again, behaving as if the rules did not apply to her.

I get that and will listen to the video, but not all laws are created equally. From speeding to murder, the consequences of what one does matters.

Keep in mind, none of this happens if she just follows the rules and does not try to get around FOIA requests. Hopefully most people would agree that it's important that our government be as transparent as possible. And if you agree with that, it's bothersome that Hillary seems to have such disdain for the FOIA. Think about this, she was willing to put classified information at risk by putting it on a private server, all because she was trying to get around being held to the same level of accountability that other government officials are. That's a problem.

That's a fair criticism but IMO, does not warrant the level of hysteria it is getting. If she had an R next to her name, no one on that side would give a shit. Which is pretty good indication that this is not a big deal, and is mostly just political. Not that I'm opposed to scoring political points, I get it, and would expect Dems to do the same.

Do you have a NYT, WSJ, or Post link? I'd like to learn more about Cheney's private residential server setup and FOIA circumvention efforts ...
