how about a migraine? or food poisoning?

I've never called in sick without being sick (chicken) but even when I am sick I just say "I am sick" or sometimes "I have a fever" and don't go into much detail.

Please don't do migraines. Plus migraines tend to last at least 48 hours as far as sick time goes. The migraine can last at least a day and then you have another day of recovery that you still can't work.
 
Oh are your sinuses bothering you?!?!?

Tell them you have a sinus infection. You went to the doctor after work on Wednesday and the antibiotic isn't settling well.

Bacterial gastroenteritis. Its basically the same thing, but is more medical based. You use that excuse and they'd easily believe you were legit sick and went to a doctor/urgent care.

The best part about the bg, is you can use that excuse for multiple days if needed. When I legitimately had it, I was prohibited from coming back to work until I had a normal bowel movement. It was hell to go through, and I was out of work for a week.

national clubs? not really sure. if there's things you're legit interested in, look into volunteering opportunities? or sports leagues maybe? i made a couple friends by trying to get bike share to philly and joining a local group that met once a month, and a couple other friends at a fiction writing series. dunno if these or like a book club would really be up your alley, plus i bet knight's dick just fell off thinking about a dude going to a book club.

I've had it before to. It knocked me out for a week. Then I was dehydrated and throwing up from that for a few days afterwards.
