national clubs? not really sure. if there's things you're legit interested in, look into volunteering opportunities? or sports leagues maybe? i made a couple friends by trying to get bike share to philly and joining a local group that met once a month, and a couple other friends at a fiction writing series. dunno if these or like a book club would really be up your alley, plus i bet knight's dick just fell off thinking about a dude going to a book club.

Well I do a softball league and could take gym classes but I just mean like young pro stuff. A book club or dance lessons would be interesting but who knows what kind of people id meet there

Also, I'm having a hard time meeting people that graduated from a 4 year college. I have my beach bum buddies, but I want to meet some more people that have their shit together. Any suggestions for clubs or activities that might be national and have these kind of people? I NEED HELP CT.

Brews, what about like the Moose Lodge or Elks or something? I don't know what kind of people do that. I feel like those men's organizations might be the male equivalent of Junior League. Or Kiwanis maybe?

I was thinking rotary or something but I don't recall any young people at the meetings when I did junior Rotary in HS.

I would probably be the youngest person at a Moose or Elks lodge by 30 years, based on my deliveries to those places in the past

Before the race I ran in RI on Saturday, the organizers were playing music. Aside from hearing Blurred Lines "in the wild" for the second time in so many days (also heard it playing at a tailgate on Friday), they played Macklemore "Same Love." My friend (who went to Wake and lived in Winston for a couple years after) was like "do you know this song? I'm not sure if they would play it down in North Carolina since people aren't accepting of gay marriage." I'd heard the song, but it was something I looked up and watched the video when everyone was linking it on facebook and whatnot.

So for you radio listeners, does/did our gay-hating state play Same Love on the radio?

I found myself trying to defend NC and the south to no avail.

ah, Rotary is another I couldn't think of.

I have a friend (well, my friend's husband) in Winston who is in one of those clubs, maybe the masons? He's early 30s but kind of an odd duck and I don't know if everyone else there is old.

ALL THE TIME.

Srsly, I hear it at least 3-4 times a week just driving to WFU and back (so not a ton of car time).

I'm excite for the next pit olympics when RTQ's teammates get her to re-enact the blurred lines music vid to win the Pit's got talent competition

I know Knight would never approve of this level of COMMIELIBBERY, but one of the best experiences I ever had with a new group of friends started with a veggie CSA when I lived in Hershey. So once a month, they had a farm day where you could go down and see where all your crops were grown and meet and greet the farmers and the other CSA members. So we went one time, and my roommate got to chatting up this COMMIELIB bearded bro who owned a meat CSA about an hour north of Hershey. He invited us to the farm where they were having a pig roast that night. We decided to go, and it was one of the most fun nights of my life. They had a couple kegs of local beer, the biggest bonfire I've ever seen, and delicious pulled pork, as well as a bunch of other dishes the locals brought potluck. We also got the chance to tour the whole farm, and eventually went and got strong in a barn with the owners, passed around some mason jars, and danced into the wee hours of the morning. Just an awesome time.

Holy shit have you guys seen Miley's music video for that wrecking ball song?

It's defs NWS.

that sounds awesome. except I am too chicken to join a CSA because I don't know how to cook all those random veggies. most of my friends are in some CSAs in Winston and they usually end up with mass quantities of all this odd stuff. I've never heard of a meat CSA

Rotary you are supposed to be a business or community leader. Depending on your position, you may be eligible. I recommend it. I'm your age and a member.
