I got the impression of something he said earlier in the broadcast that the ability to rebound is directly tied to size and experience. In other words, he can't teach that to a group of young players.

Of course he's going to talk like he'll be back. What else could he say? He's not going to announce his resignation on the radio show. And if they canceled it, then everyobody would know that he had been fired. A control freak like Wellman isn't going to let that happen.
