A source told me yesterday that Ben Howland would get the Wake job. Considering that it wasn't open at the time, I tend to believe him.

If it's Russell Turner I may be done with Wake basketball. He hasn't even made the NCAA tourney and just lost in the 1st round of the NIT. If that is the way Wellman goes after VT just pulled Buzz Williams then Wake basketball is and will remain in the dumpster.

I don't care much for Rick Barnes either. Dino beat him in the NCAA tournament and was still fired. However, he is way better than Russell Turner.

I would be "shocked" if it's Shaka or Marshall..............that would require Rolling the Quad.

Howland would give me hope. I guess so would Amaker, Masiello, and maybe even Archie Miller.

After Buzz, the Turner speculation, and VT hiring Buzz Williams........I think it's make or break it time for Wake Forest basketball relevance.
 
If Amaker had not played at Duke, he's probably not in anyone's conversation. His coaching pedigree just isn't that strong.
 
i feel like bonergan/lonerdonk is no longer an option. no buzz around him.

Yeah, real unimpressive by Longerdonk tonight. Memphis broke their D easily and he had no real adjustments.

Yes, there are holes in his resume, but I don't think the Duke thing has anything to do with it, honestly. How many coaches have won tourney games in B2B years at an Ivy?
 
On the bright side, really feels like White or Miller are the worst case scenarios right now.
 
Cliff notes: put Wright at the top of tsy's list. Concern about big east future, perceived as cheaper than shaka.

My big takeaway was this: we are finally singing for the fences. Hard to say if that's true or not. Just quarters being fed to some at least
