I feel like Shaka would have maybe filled the position on his staff if he planned on stAying. Why hire an assistant only to change jobs in a few days. This is the best sign yet! There ya go my best Monday morning optimism.

Give her a break guys, she's probably got her period. Anybody get the sinking feeling I have that Well man is just waiting a reasonable amount of time making us think he is going after the big guys and then drop a turd on us again? I can see it now, "After an exhaustive search and back ground checks, I am pleased to announce______________ ( one of Tubby Smith, Chris Mack, Russell Turner, or Bob McKillop) as the new Wake Forest Basketball head coach". The million views on this thread would seem like peanuts if that happens!
 
I don't know if I would read too much into the VCU assistant situation other than if meAns shaka is (at some level) thinking about a rather generous offer to coach at an acc school with good academics. That much we seem to know.

At least during coaching searches the sky is the limit for WFU basketball. It's kind of like the start of the NFL season, Everybody is in play. Let's just hope the rumors are true and we truly are going to finally hire an upper echelon coach this go round....
 
If it's going to be Shaka I think we would likely begin hearing today from VCU #sources (team meeting, on campus tweets, etc) that a change is coming.

He lives in Shaka Bottom! (Yeah, they renamed it for him)

So that means we'd probably have to rename some district in W-S for him. Maybe call it Buena Shaka. How about just rename the town Winston-Shaka?

We've propably way overthought the Florida connection this weekend, but for what it's worth, there is a Piper Meridian that traveled from Winston to Vero beach on Thursday that is returning today. Vero Beach isn't that far from Palm Beach.

I doubt the whole Palm Beach angle, even though I've been tracking the flights too. I looked at the traffic in to Allagheny County yesterday for kicks, and there were six flights inbound from Palm Beach. That's also unusual. I suspect there was some non-Wake hoops related event that was driving all this traffic.
 
We actually had Jay Wright and Shaka Smart play 1-on-1 at a Palm Beach mansion for the Wake Basketball Illuminati for the honor and privilege of being our next coach. We find out who was first to 11 today.
