Our Next BB Coach or #MannUp + other coach talk

Marshall has hired Dan Dantoni, Mike's big brother, as HC. He's been assisting Mike for years after being a successful HS coach in Myrtle Beach. Has any other school ever hired a 66 YO HC without D-1 experience? We all know how much NBA coaching experience can be ( Sheldon: Sarcasm? Leonard: Yep). This could be a real disaster waiting to happen.

he actually taught me in high school, so i'm interested to see how it goes

The best thing is that his dad is still alive and attended the presser yesterday. A very successful family. I hope Dan succeeds and grabs some of the attention away from WVU. I cannot fathom why MU thought it had a shot at landing Mike if the Lakers let him go. Loyalty to your state and school are one thing but it's a long way down from LA to Huntington.

his dad is 100 and was in the front row today it was crazy

#MannUp. Seems as if a group of Dookies are too sensitive and are seeking to ban such phrases as 'Man Up'.

A new word-discouragement campaign at Duke University has labeled phrases such as “Man Up,” “That’s So Gay,” and “Don’t Be a Pussy” offensive language that “delegitimizes” homosexuality and oppresses and insults people.

Mizzou hired Kim Anderson, head coach of the D-II Champion Central Missouri Mules.

So are there anymore big jobs open? Looks like Howland stays out of coaching and Shaka and Marshall stay at their schools.

I don't believe there are any more big jobs open. I think the only way that happens at this point is if someone leaves for an NBA job.

Clearly, there is more to the story with Howland. He showed an interest in every opening among the semi-high profiles jobs that were open this year, and did not get an offer.

Also, Mizzou has a reasonably strong basketball tradition, and cash. Probably no worse than the 4th best basketball job in the SEC (behind KY, FL and ARK). Can't imagine what this Board would have been like if WF hired a coach from D-2.

Except Mizzou fans have a raging hard-on for this guy, apparently. Helps he played at MU and was an assistant under Norm Stewart when they had some real strong years in the '90s

Yeah. Wake fans would go nuts for a coach with Wake ties coming off a D-II national championship.

Especially that strong of Wake ties, and a history of great success at the D2 program

Not sure there's more to the story that HOWLAND SUX!
