World Cup Group B Discussion (AUS, CHL, NLD, SPA)

While I root against most of the Euros, it's bittersweet to see Spain go, though I'm happy for Chile. Spain has been the prettiest Euro team to watch for the last several years, and Xavi has been 1 of my favorite players. But time catches up, as it also has for Forlan. They were my 2 favorite players in 2010, and this is the end for both of them in terms of WCs.

agreed on all counts. i LOVE seeing the success this hemisphere has had though.

awful format...

Hemisphere - Wins - Losses - Draws
EAST - 8 - 13 - 4
WEST - 8 - 3 - 2

Only N./C./S. American teams to lose to non-N./C./S. American teams: Ecuador vs. Switzerland, Honduras vs. France

How the fuck could there possibly be 6 mins of injury time?

Well, Aranguiz was shot (and somehow got back up). And then Chile spent a huge portion of the half rolling around. And you are about to condemn the defending world champions to the dust bin of the tournament. Those things should add up to 4-6 minutes.

They talked about this on the men in blazers thing today and its so right. Torres is gonna score 6 goals against Austrailia and win the golden boot

with now 2 Barcelona players on the roster I am IN on MY Chile (plus I love their wine!)

Bruno Martins Indi will miss the Netherlands' group match against Chile. It's still unclear whether he'll be fit in time for the round of 16

It remains to be seen whether I'll be able to put three defenders on the field. Layun will certainly play and Nagatomo. I presume I can start the Russian. Guess I should be ok. Bonucci may never get a minute.

With Van Persie suspended, today will be the first time since 1996 that the Netherlands won't start a player with Van in their name. 200+ games.
