Delaware State Thread

IMO, nobody has developed since their freshman year. It's almost like the players from the junior class are still at a "freshman" skill level because [name redacted] never developed/coached his players.
Yeah, I made this point after the Arkansas game with Devin being the exception in the class. Kind of rethinking myself after this game. He got exposed pretty badly tonight.

The depths Ron Wellman has taken our two revenue programs to, continues to amaze. Yet he continues to walk around with his arrogant nose up in the air. He should be so unemployed.

It'll get better. Just need the junior class to graduate and let Manning recruit some studs. I'm pretty confident he will.

Trust me I know. It's all about the horses. You have them or you don't. Manning better do whatever it takes to bring real top 100's in here, and wellman hatch and who the hell ever else needs to get out of the way.

Devin is just not a good big man. Very one dimensional and has no touch. Needs to be better about passing out of double and triple teams too.

Attended the game. Oh boy. :(

I'll put it this way. Delaware State appears to be very well coached. I was impressed with their discipline and movement.

Will just leave it at that.

That's why I was glad that The other two left. That whole class sucked. It's being honest, we have the first three real players coming in next year that we've had since Teague and Johnson. All about recruiting, and anyone who tells you any different is a liar.

Our first half actually wasn't bad. Delaware State shot the ball out of their minds but we actually played well. Second half was another story.

Yeah, the first half was okay, they just shot well. They didn't even shoot well in the 2nd half, we just completely came unraveled for a multitude of reasons.

You knew Del State would be quicker.

We are supposed to go Kansas on teams like this and run strong power down low post offense and dominate the paint, with lots of high percentage shots in the paint. Play smart basketball.

Oops.

Huh? We got our shit swatted every time we did try to go in the paint. Their big man (#1) had 8 blocks. Devin was 0-7.

Was there as well. They were clearly the better team tonight, and if we played them in a 10 game series I don't think we'd win 5.

We lost to a MEAC team. And not a good one. That's incredible. Yeesh.

Hiring jeff [Redacted] is the worst decision our school has ever made.

This times a hundred. All Wakes failures are on Wellman. How is still has a job is beyond me. Wake has 0 players who can consistently make a shot outside of 10 feet. Wake is very easy to defend. See where the team is in February

As well as Wilbekin played in the first half, I'm really puzzled by Manning's decision to barely play him in the 2nd, especially when we needed a perimeter shooting threat and ball-handling (I.e. Not Mad Dog Jones) to make the run that could win the game. In fact I was puzzled by Manning's haphazard, seemingly random trial and error sub patterns t/out the 2nd half.
