NFL Offseason Thread: NFL Draft - Rams pick Goff #1

Denver trading up so teams can't leapfrog them by trading with us. Only Connor Cook left. How many teams want him? Will they trade with us for him?
 
I think Elliott will be a good NFL RB but damn could have had Ramsey or Buckner
 
so due to recent events I firmly expect The Ole Miss women's basketball team to get absolutely hammered by the NCAA.

The whole organization wanted Ramsey except for Jerry and unlike past drafts, Jerry got his way this time. To me Elliot (who is a good player) could have been picked later on as he probably would have been there when we picked again in the 2nd round. I really think Jerry does shit like this to try and keep the Boys in the spotlight when we just need better players.

Thank heavens we didn't end up with Manziel when Jerry was dying to pull the trigger on him.

Ravens offered to trade picks with Dallas to draft Elliott. He was not getting out of top 10.

Yea, he was gonna get drafted Top 15 no matter what, more than likely Top 10.


I just saw on ESPN that Myles Jack has a Loss of Value policy that will kick in if he doesn't get picked by #45 and will be $60,000 per pick up to $5MM. I think he gets picked before then though...I don't see Cleveland, Tennessee AND Baltimore passing on him. I can see Tennessee taking him since they have 3 of the first 14 picks of the 2nd round, so they can afford a little more risk.


Speaking of Tennessee, I really see them taking a huge step up this year. Mariota, Murray, DGB and Walker on offense and then all these picks? A decent schedule? Improved OL already, if they can grab Jack, one of the Bama DT's, and a CB like Fuller or Xavien Howard, and then just use the rest of that stockpile of picks, I really do think they can do something. More than likely be next year before they can move deep into the playoffs, but I really like what the Titans are doing.
 
Supposedly, Jack needs microfracture surgery. Whoever drafts him this year can't count on him playing til next year; and even then, a full strength return is questionable. Hate it for the guy.

Not necessarily missing this upcoming season, but he's going to miss a full season in the coming years when he does get the surgery. I've had microfracture, and it's a long recovery. The other thing about microfracture, unlike ligament surgeries, is athletes don't always fully recover from it - it's a lot more hit or miss. I remember when Chris McAlister of the Ravens had it in his 30s, and it was a career ender. He could end up falling lower than the ND LB.
