Official '15-16 NBA Season Thread: THEY WON ONE FOR THE LAND

Haha cool. That's what I was looking for. Bz sucks.

Just unbelievable to me that a POS like Bzdickface would even be considered for an interview for any head coaching job at this point, let alone an NBA head coaching job. This is a crazy world we live in.

Dude has assburgers. How he gets through an interview, I have no clue.

Wh are you going to hate on a guy because he was born with a tough hand. I mean I despise [Redacted] as a coach but it seems pretty mean spirited to hate on him because he was born with Aspergers. It is a pretty tough condition to deal with.

I don't remember his Nuggets teams but every time haralabob mentions the 3 or 4 worst HCs he's ever seen in the NBA, [name redacted] is in there. He's probably a decent NBA assistant, that's a completely different job too.
Yah but he was waaaaaay wrong about Billy D!!! My man!!

At the risk of bringing the wrath of Khan on me, his Nuggets first year was why I was (gulp) psyched when he was hired. I watched a ton of NBA hoops that year as I had determined that unless a woman was buried on your knob, they were trouble (it lasted a year). His Nuggets teams was literally the 76ers pre Ish Smith. They were horrific. But they played extremely hard. He had some sort of Latrell Sprewell like confrontation with Carmelo and that was it. He honestly did not get a chance with a more talented roster. He was fired less than 15 games the season (Kevin McHale style).

So his NBA experience is not horrific.

That said, there are a few coaching jobs that not many people want right now: Houston (what to do Harden and who to pair him with), Memphis (are they going to lose Conley? They just fired a really good coach), and Sacramento (filled because Joeger was filthy hungry for a real pay day, organization be damned). So if Bzd is getting serious consideration, it speaks to the shit show of that organization more than anything. I assume Van Gundy took his name out of the hat not the other way around.

looks like it might be MDA in Houston with Bz as Assoc Head Coach/#2?

Did D'Antoni's kid go to Wake or something? Wasn't he spotted on campus one day when Bz was coach? Do they go back? I feel like there was some connection.

Assuming he tries and it doesn't work (which I will assume is the likely outcome), they would eat the full cap hit on him, correct?

He's done time in Winston. He ain't gonna do time in Sacramento. Plus, even he knows Sacramento is where coaches go to die.

It's the curse of the Ice Dancers. Ever since the owner of the Rochester Royals traded the right to draft Bill Russell for a couple of weeks of the Ice Capades, the Royals/Kings have been a cursed franchise.

Maybe they should hire Johnny Weir as GM and Tara Kipinski as coach.

This rockets coaching search has all the makings of Morey resigning

ESPN reported Thursday that Rockets owner Leslie Alexander and general manager Daryl Morey traveled to Cleveland to hold separate interviews with Kalamian, Silas and [Redacted]. Alexander vowed to ESPN during Houston's first-round series that he would take a more active role in this coaching search than he has in the past.

ESPN also reported earlier this week that Jeff Van Gundy received strong support from Morey to make a return to Houston for a second stint as Rockets coach, but sources say Alexander could not be sold on a reunion with the ESPN analyst, who has been working in television since the sides parted ways in May 2007.

It would be amazing for [name redacted] to beat a dozen candidates out, including JVG, for an NBA head gig. I'm almost pulling for it now.
