NBA Off-season thread: Duncan and Garnett retire

Bucks need someone to guard the 1, so Delly is a pretty good pick up right now for the team.

If the Cavs don't match in three days, that is. :)

Cavs GM makes it seem like they're not matching

@KingJames
Congrats to my brother! @matthewdelly on his deal! Good luck in Milwaukee! Very deserving to you and your family.

Lol. This is kind of awesome and so Chandler Parsons

well if Giannis being the PG didn't push him out I'm not sure Delly does.

Giannis moving to PG full time pushed MCW into a bench roll/guard the 1 while playing off the ball on the other end.

What was ph's weird giannis theory? That he plays pg so no one else will sign him to a max deal?

That Giannis would want to leave but making him be a PG would make him want to stay, eventhough was like 2 years away from being on the market and even then would be a restricted free agent so the Bucks could just match anyways. So I suppose it would be to prevent Giannis from being the only guy in the history of the NBA who could get a max to turn down a max extension off a rookie contract, take the 1 year Qualifying offer for $20 million less, just because he wanted to be Point Guard.

That playing Giannis at PG will reduce his value on the open market because the need for a wing is greater than the need for PG.

This was the closest. My idea was that fewer teams will pursue PG Giannis than PG/SG/SF/PF Giannis. Teams that have their PG, especially a max PG won't be in the market for him. If Giannis wants to be a starting PG, there will be fewer options than if he just wanted to start at any position.

I feel like locking up Conley and Parsons to batshit insane contracts is the opposite way to build a contender

You gotta pay somebody.

Tough read for Mavs fans. Seems weird to say "we would have tanked" then trade down from the 13 spot.

I've said on this board a couple of times that that draft doomed the Mavs. They passed up Giannis and Schroeder twice, for Larkin and Crowder. Then traded both away
