2017 Football Recruiting

Well, I certainly botched that! See he played 101 snaps as a true freshman. I think they were mostly on special teams, but obviously I could be wrong there too. My apologies!

You ARE wrong there.

Don't get the Bachman hate. Kid runs great routes and blocks well. Those are two very important skill sets. He got most of his catches on 10/12 yard ins or outs. Because he runs such perfect routes, Wolford in particular had good timing with him on both those throws. Yes, he did not get good separation on deep throws and that a weakness for him, but we also missed him a bunch deep where the corner on him anticipated his break and he juked him and was open deep. Couple of times we threw it out of bounds and a couple of times we overthrew him. Kids a baller though and deserves to be on the 2-deep.

lol, pretty sure wfu22fan is the one ripping on Bachman, not Les.

No I know. I just keep reading from various posters how they don't understand why he's in the game. I know PHDeac, our football, hoops, soccer, tennis, curling, and billiards all knowing, wanted to see a starting receiver corp of Lewis, Hines, and Wade. I've just seen a receiver who is a competitor, who seems to bleed gold and black, who blocks well and runs great routes. He also seems logic and mature on twitter to boot.

Right, but Les agrees with you and you BOLD-attacked him.

Bachman is the football equivalent of Wilbekin. A coach's dream but undersized and not quite athletic enough for his position.

YES! Because that's completely indicative of his entire career. Campanaro had 10 receptions for 107 yards his freshman season. (Might have been targeted just 10 times for all I know)

I promise you Bachman will be on the two-deep in 2017 and Surratt likely won't. And it's the right call. Write him off if you wish, but you're giving up on a guy a bit too fast.

Don't waste your breath, Les. wfu22fan gonna wfu22fan.

Agree 100% with jaybone.

Bachman reminds me of Nate Morton. Morton was a good possession receiver with a pretty good arm. Bachman made some big catches last year and should be good for more next season. I agree with those who have said he will be on the 2-deep and probably should be. Go Deacs!

Morton minus 3 inches and 30 lbs and an arm.

Wouldn't be surprised to see he or Monroe compete for playing time early... I also expect Christian Beal and one of the defensive backs to get a chance to play in 2017.

Agree on Burley or Monroe.
Not sure about Beal. We already have several good RBs with experience, plus Byrd who's a RS freshman.
