Warrick Dunn, 5-9, 187 lbs. 12th pick of the 1997 draft to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Offensive coordinator Mike Shula. Rookie year: 978 yards rushing on 224 carries. 4 TDs. 462 yards recieving on 39 catches. 3 TDs. Offensive ROY.

My CMC projection: 1000 yards rushing on 200 carries, 5 TDs. 650 yards recieving on 50 catches. 5 TDs. Offensive ROY.

Going all in like Arlington with Zeller. Care to project return yards?

He'll only do PR. Dunno about yards, be I'll throw in 1 more tuddie.

I think Samuel and Elder will compete for KR.

love it!

Every NFC South with an O/U of at least 8. Panthers at 9:

Only 7 teams under 7.5.

Yeah, I thought it may be skewed way in favor of overs, but it adds up to only three extra wins over the course of the season -- not that unusual since the public is generally more likely to bet the over.

And most teams will fall right around .500

I have no idea what to expect next year.

I could see our FAs improving holes at S/OT/DE, our defense starts generating more turnovers, our line is improved by getting healthy and adding Kalil, and the rookies add some much needed speed to the offense so Cam isn't crushed waiting for someone to flash open.

Or... I could see our FAs bombing because they're old or done, our defense still being weak at edge rusher and deep/middle, allowing for long, sustained drives, and our line sustains an injury or two and Cam gets the yips again because pressure is coming from up the middle.

The one thing i'm pretty bullish on are the top two picks. I love Caf and Samuel. DG saw what i think was the most glaring hole on the team and addressed it with two picks. We can now put one or both out there and run multiple sets without having to substitute. An offense of trips with a combo of KB/Funions/Caf/Samuel with Greg isolated on the other side and Stew in the backfield is pretty goddamn scary. You you have so much flexibility out of that.

TB 11-5
CAR 11-5
ATL 7-9
NO 6-10

Yeah definitely think TB is going to be solid this year. Them being the lowest o/u in the nbc south seems wrong. I'd take the over without a doubt.

What scares me is that I don't think we've added anybody this offseason who will be a star next year. I think Mike Adams will be solid. I think Captain will be solid at the nickel. It makes me sad Russell Shepard will probably make the roster. Peppers may be better than Ealy but that doesn't say much.

I think McCaffrey and Samuels will be mercurial. This season comes down to what kind of production we will get out of the last three draft classes. Will KB and Funchess be threats? Will Bradbury continue his improvement? Is Worley a legit starter? What will a healthy Butler add to the DL? Will Daryl Williams and Tre Boston take advantage of what may be their last shot?

I'd feel a lot better if we had a WR with a solid track record coming in.

Oh and we need a healthy Luke.

If the Bucs don't start out hot, they're screwed. All of their division games are in the last 9 games. The other three are Jets, Lions, and @Packers.

My biggest worry is o line depth

If Kalil sucks/gets hurt then were moving someone over to LT and now have a huge issue with depth on the line again

Very fragile OL scares me

Stealing from Cian Fahey a little here, but DeSean Jackson is the type of add that will pay bigger benefits than one might think. Teams have to account for that blazing speed which will create openings for their growing number of weapons.

Their D is pretty bland, but the same can be said for the other defenses besides ours in the division (and its surely better than the Saints'). Lotta points gonna be scored in the South

I am a believer that the offensive line drives the success of a team. If your O-line is good, you can control the ball on offense and have the ability to both run and pass - especially run - and thus keep your defense of the field. This allows the defense to obviously play fresher and better. I think it all starts with a really good offensive line. I still just think the Panthers have mostly misfits there. It's just not going to be much of an offensive line. One of the most amazing things I have seen is the Panthers' success 2 seasons ago with a weak offensive line. They played over their head some, but most of the offensive success came from all that Cam was doing. He was still under pressure like crazy (like last year), and most of the rushing came from his scrambles. I think that's too tough to repeat, and the Panthers won't even try that again. Clearly, that's the plan. I just think they have to strengthen that O-line, and I don't think Kahlil does much there. But maybe - just maybe - if CMC and Samuel are what we hope then it will give Cam that quick outlet and take pressure of Cam and the O-line. They can move the sticks that way, and keep the defense off the field.

As an aside, kick out of the stat that you hear them say on TV "Such and such team is 11-2 this season when rushing the ball more than 30 times". Well no joke, so is every team. That just means they got a lead and ran the ball the rest of the game to run the clock. Damn I hate that stat.

To fair though, Grobe would run the ball 40 times and lose by 10.

You don't have to have a good OL to be a good team, or even a good offense. You brought up the 2015 Panthers, but there are many instances of good offenses that get by with a mediocre OL by scheming well and having players at other positions that mitigate bad OL play.

What more should DG have done to address the OL? It was a bad year for tackles in FA and the Draft. And he still spent big money on one of the top LTs available in FA and took a flyer on a dude in the second day of the draft. There's not much more he could have done this year, other than bringing in another overpriced player in FA or reaching on somebody in the draft.

The Cowboys have everybody thinking that you should just get better linemen, like it's that easy to just go out and find pro bowl dudes that a) their current teams don't want and b) want to play with your team.
