Men's Golf

We need two birdies on the 9th from each Bae and Zalatoris, but we'll need 1 or two bogeys on 18 from ASU, but they've got their top 3 seeds playing it after the bottom two have made par.

"Hell of a round" is Iowa State's round today. It looks like we will be the same exact amount of strokes out of 5th place as we started the day.
 
Our 5 went -6 on a day everybody shot low and we only end up -8. Our 2 had 6 birdies and shot +1.

I don't really give a shit about golf but it seems like Haas has had a long enough run as the head of our program. Garbage results in the tourney, year after year.
 
If I am not mistaken, didn't we just barely sneak into the 5th position on the last day last year? It seems that we normally kick ass in the fall, play decent in the spring, and then shit the bed for the ACC and NCAAs. Basically, the more important the golf, the worse we do.

Yes we had like 3 eagles on the final 5 holes to grab the final spot.
 
Why the Deac Not said:
Blake Wagoner's 70 today for ASU could be the dagger for the Deacs unless Will Z. goes on a birdie binge over the last 3 holes. And we need to get a couple more from Bae & Camo.

Helluva round by Lee Detmer today, what an impressive 65 if that is his lowest competitive score at this level. Great time to do it!

We are a blue blood golf program with the golf equivalent of McD AA's coming in every year. Our golf program is the most under performing team we have at Wake. We always give UNC and Duke shit in BB for their McD AA's but at least they perform.

Our facility plus having an on campus golf course which is a top 100 layout and getting these results is just unacceptable. I love the Haas family but we seem to expect less in golf than any other sport we have.

Probably get another sponsor's invite from Wyndham and maybe a few fall events? Would be nice if he could factor in the individual Natl Championship for some additional momentum that might earn a few more sponsor invites.

He'll likely need to go web.com to get his Tour card tho.
 
Blake played bad the first 2 days. Just a true frosh, but he's been playing much better than those first 2 days. Today was certainly more along the lines of how he expects to play. Keep an eye on my boy the next few years!
