McCreary Indoor Practice Center - Collegiate Arms Race Thread

This photo shows a crew disassembling part of the interior wall of the Indoor Practice Facility (IPF) in preparation for creating an opening between the IPF and the new Indoor Performance Center.

:plos:

Current construction/renovation projects on campus (off the top of my head):
Salem Hall (full gut I believe)
Reynolds Gym (half will be done by August)
Poteat Residence Hall (phase 2)
Davis Residence Hall (phase 1)
Benson Center
Multiple office/space renovations in Reynolda Hall
ZSR Library
Soccer Practice Fields
Sports Performance Center

I'd imagine Bob's focus is on sports projects because well....it's a sports board.

Bob, I don't see any duct work in the ceiling above the in-door field. If the upper part of the space isn't cooled, you could create a foggy atmosphere, or at least condensation on the surface.

The ZSR Library has been gradually renovating, improving and updating its interior spaces. To implement the full renovation plan, it needs only a fraction of what the university has raised and spent on athletic facilities. We should tear it down and make it a lacrosse court. Ebooks are the future. Libraries.

I remember my first job at Wake was scanning hard copy books into a program that converted to PDF (or some reader program), and then making sure all of the text was interpreted correctly. Man the mid-90's were great. I had forgotten about that until reading those last few posts, it had to rank up there on the list of 'most boring jobs'.

Mits kinda a grandstander , don't like being in bed with the guy, I predict scandal

My spidey sense tells me you don't want a guy who gets off on the attention of arguing with ACC refs managing endowments and pension funds, especially in the hospitality industry which always goes south at any downturn.

McCreary made his money in an honest profession like furniture, plus you don't hear about him in the news

He's not giving to wake forest cause he's a good dude. He's Expecting to manage a couple hundred mil from our endowment and take a management fee

I'm also 100% hipshooting here with zero actual knowledge. Just guessing and I'm a good guesser and in the hospitality industry which is the shadiest industry I've been involved in. How much of our endowment is invested with noble? How much has that % gone up since the "gift". Business development expenses are an easy write off

Just perused our financials, and I'm a damn good accountant, perhaps the best in my graduating class of what we tout as the best accounting program in the country. Of course the Noble info is hidden #shocker
