The Pit Parenting Thread

Curious George could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and not lose viewers.
 
Our almost 3 year old is all about Octonauts with some Lion Guard and Blaze thrown in. She's over Daniel on tv but loves the iPad apps and I highly recommend them as long as you don't hate the songs. I think the songs are awesome learning tools.
 
Your 3 year old has good taste. Octonauts is the GOAT children's show. Lion Guard is excellent as well. The one about mourning the loss of a loved one in which Simba attends a funeral is really well done.
 
Figured this was as good a place as any to post it. My 8 year old has started a book review web site. If you have younger readers that are looking for interesting books it might be worth a look. She tries to review at least a book a week. Voracious reader and is really enjoying the writing aspect.

We are doing a Lion Guard bday party at the dirty mouse (Chuck e cheese) this weekend. Havent actually tried watching the Lion King, we probably should! Octonauts is great, our house is now a wealth of knowledge about all sorts of obscure ocean animals.

the wife will love "the dirty mouse" for chuck e cheese. she really dislikes that filthy place.

Hi! Do you know how moms can sometimes be a little funny about keeping things clean? (No offense, moms!) Well, Kat Greene’s mom goes way over the limit. She has OCD. OCD is a sickness where you keep on checking things twice and you wash your hands A LOT!

On the reading note, if any of you have young children who are advanced readers and you are having a difficult time finding appropriate books that they are interest in, let me know. My wife and I came across a librarian that for $30 is willing to pick 30 books for your child. All you do is give her a list of books your child has read, and she will use that to find interesting age-appropriate books. Ill PM anyone who would like her information. She was a massive help in our search to continue to challenge our daughter's book selection, while at the same time making sure that she continued to simply love to read.

You have to pay her? We just go to book stores and ask for recs. Haven't had an issue yet.

We have to buy the book, of course.

First day of school for the kiddos today.
Girl recently (beginning of summer) cut her own bangs, and today is wearing a headband in a way that really highlights her handiwork. It is so bad, and I love it so hard.
