I know Smenda has had some targeting history, but this seems excessive. He tried to jump over him.

idk that seemed like an obvious targeting. (and i agree with it, gotta disincentize hitting dudes in the head.)

Well, the QB was sliding so he could have just kept running through him and tripped over him and nailed his head with his knee.

How on Earth would that disincentivize anything?? I’m
all about discouraging hits to the head, but that was not that.
