The first scene of the first MCU film was in the desert and it looked better than Dune.
 
did a rewatch of original Top Gun with the family last night and woof...the scenes with kelly mcgillis were practically unwatchable. Then saw the new Top Gun tonight and holy crap was it awesome. So old Top gun..meh, new top gun...fantastic.
 
Give me a superhero, a bright clear color palette and an unambiguous story of good and bad !
 
Why watch Sicario or Blade Runner 2049 or Arrival when you could be watching Ant Man or Iron Man 4 ????
 
I love Arrival. One of my top five favorite movies.
 
Wife and I watched Atonement last night, I can't remember if I saw the recommendation here or somewhere else. Thought it was really good.
 
The comic book donks are mad that Dune won 6 Oscars and was nominated for 4 more and they watch 40 nonsense movies making up 80% of the box office and made in a single studio every year written by AI and focused grouped by Ohio and marketed and sold to the absolute lowest common denominator and try to pretend it’s discernment when they actually just have a hard time following a story that isn’t just baby bird regurgitated to them and it’s genuinely a hallmark of the downfall of our culture

But seriously, Dune was paint by numbers with unnecessarily long strokes. Film snobs love a white savior story though. Makes them feel good about themselves.
