I get where you are going with this but it is a bit disingenuous. I am no Wellman fan but fundraising is a major part of an AD's job and there is an art and a skill to it.

Bullshit. Disingenuous is giving Wellman credit for other people’s efforts and accomplishments. There is a whole development team that works on fundraising. While overseeing development is a significant part on a AD’s job, those facilities weren’t built because of Wellman’s skill. They were built because people that love Wake.

Nobody is arguing any of that - everyone knows it. And Wellman deserves every bit of shit he gets here for destroying our marquee sport. But just like the AD gets shit for every failure under his watch, you also have to recognize that good things that happen on his watch are also his responsibility - like it or not.
