Official 2023-24 NBA Season Thread - Celtics-Pacers, T-Wolves-Mavericks; ESPN, Amazon, NBC finalizing TV deals

Mitchell probably gonna need to go for 50+ to win this game

This game highlights why Ant is awesome, he takes on the other teams best player on defense

Mitchell deferring to Dean Wade on Tatum and Tatum to Pritchard on Mitchell

Buck up and play some defense!

the point still stands
I mean yes and no. Do I expect him to score 25+ rest of playoffs? No

But he is also getting wide open looks because of Luka and Kyrie gravity that he has never had before.

Considering Luka is so gimpy I don’t know why OKC doesn’t just dare Luka to score 60 and guard everyone else

The Lottery is today at 3 pm before Knicks-Pacers. Here are the odds.

My lottery pet peeve is people saying that a team's lottery spot is where they're most likely to pick. That's only true for 8-14. For example, the Spurs are in the #5 spot but only have a 2.2% chance of getting the #5 pick. The Pistons have 47.9% chance of the #5 pick.

I’ve seen a lot of mock drafts and none of them had Clingan top 5 but now they’re hyping him as a potential #1 pick. It’s an unsettled draft but I can’t see it.

They did Stacey Castle and his wife wrong. They put up a graphic saying Stacey was mom’s name.

Ph can you post updates if watching live? Had to leave for sons game.

The Spurs got the Raptors pick at #8. Pistons and Hornets moved down to #5 and #6. The Hawks, Rockets, Spurs, and Wizards are in the top 4.

I don't feel bad at all for the sorry ass Pistons. You got Cade at #1. Much of the top is lottery picks. Fix your damn franchise.

Top 4: Hawks, Wizards, Rockets, Spurs. The first #1 pick ever for the Hawks.

I don't think we'll see anymore Young or Murray trade talk now. They should stand pat and draft the best player possible, probably Sarr or Risacher.

Feels like the 2nd pick actually kinda nice in this draft

Risacher makes the most sense to me for the Hawks.

Sarr to the Wizards bc the French Connection

3-4 is gonna be Dillingham/Sheppard, though not sure about the order.

Somebody might trade up for Clingan or he’s gonna fall a bit imo

So Spurs have 4 and 8? Even if draft isn’t particularly strong, should still get some nice pieces.
depending on the rocket's situation, could be a good opportunity to package the picks and trade up for #3 and a player

Yeah. There's been a lot of talk about the Spurs taking Dillingham. There so much talk about the Spurs needing a PG. People forget they started Julian Champagnie 59 games last year. Tre Jones is fine at PG. They really need another wing or two. I hope they draft one and trade for one and pick a PG.

Agreed about Clingan. Early mocks showed him going to OKC who needs a big who can complement Chet and play behind him. I could see them using all that draft capital to move up and get him. Otherwise, they'd take another wing or Filipowski.

That's interesting. I wonder which player the Rockets would be willing to give up. #4 and #8 for #3 and Tari Eason? I doubt the Spurs will do it but it's worth thinking about.

I do see the Rockets at #3 being a flex spot in the draft. I could see one of two things happening. If the "weakest draft in years" narrative sticks after the combine, I think other teams will just stay in their spot and the Rockets will just take the BPA.

But if Clingan is firmly the #3 player or a PG rises to the top, teams may aggressively trade into that spot.
